Soooo....
With West Georgia added the UAC will have 10 teams for 2024 and 11 for 25.
There is talk that UTA is considering football down the road. That would make 12 and an easy way to have divisions.
I'm thinking it may end up being kinda like I said before,
You may not call us a "conference" by NCAA, and you may not call us "FBS" by NCAA, but we are going to do things like we want to do them...
Outside of the SWAC, no conference in FCS has divisions, or plays for a conference championship game, we may very well do that...
And I do think there is a way and still play the playoffs.
Who knows, someone like Luck along with Gumbart, who is in an advisory role for the UAC, could easily find sponsors for a couple of bowl games.
With the PAC or Mountain West about to fold (My opinion) the NCAA may even say, OK, we have a slot to fill, yall are it.
Who knows.
I don't however believe that anyone out of the UAC is on the list to get an invite any time soon.

So, I found out the goal for the UAC is to have at least 12 football playing schools and play a modified division set up.
ASUN division vs WAC division.
In hopes to get more into the playoffs by everyone not playing each other.
ASUN division will play all ASUN schools with rotation with WAC schools.
WAC will do the same obviously.
The best in each will be division Champs.
ASUN
EKU, UCA, APSU, UWG, UNA
WAC
SFA, ACU, Tarleton, UTRGV, UT, SUU
If UTA does add football, that makes 7 for them, and we need 2 more... VSU, UWF???

UTA will never bring football back. Liberal Politics, massive $ to renovate the stadium and $ taken out of the athletic budget, absolute zero support from the almost total commuter student body, total lack of community interest. The list goes on and on. Much better chance of D2 move ups, Angelo State and WTAM. But WTAMU has a very serious problem with their President right now that would most likely impede their transition without Mothership involvement.

What if UT-Arligton played at Choctaw Stadium (old Texas Rangers stadium)? 300 fans would show up at Choctaw. I lived in Arlington for 30 years. Football gets talked about every few years. It will never ever happen. I can’t tell you what a non starter this is. D2 call ups or bust. Might get a Northern Arizona or Colorado school to jump ship but doubtful. The UAC is actually a pretty nice looking conference and if schools stay and grow together, it might actually turn into a conference that teams are begging to join.

Just thought I'd put this here...
It's from 2022.
I have family and friends that live in Jacksonville and regularly attend UNF sporting events.
They say that every year, the want for UNF to play football grows, and they have recently had a private meeting (fans, alum and donors) about becoming the outside resources to support football. Apparently the meeting had over 150 people and went very well.
As far as a stadium goes, they can use the already existing stadium as it is and upgrade it over time.
I would keep my eyes on them going forward...

Stetson is a private school with a smaller enrollment. From what I gathered talking with their AD a few years ago, they like playing smaller private schools in football, and the non scholarship route seems to save them more money... I'm not going to pretend I understand their thinking, especially with the Pioneer League travel, but that's them... UNF on the other hand, I would think would be a major FCS player and with FCS departures going back to App State, the FCS needs schools like North Florida even UNA and UWG...
