Like the logo, but it practically screams "Texas" with the lone star and all. Hope they're not trying to push their weight around too much!

“It’s fairly simple,” UAC executive director Oliver Luck said on Friday at the conference’s media day in Arlington, Texas, “FCS is where we are, and FCS* is 100 percent our focus. And what we want to do is perform at the highest level regardless of what conference, what league, what division we’re in.” … The NCAA later denied the UAC’s waiver request to be recognized as a single-sport FCS conference this year, due to a moratorium on such activity, and it’s since been extended to Jan. 1, 2025. Undaunted, the UAC still moved forward with the new name and the plan to continue to pursue official NCAA status. Like the new Big South-OVC Football Association, the UAC will retain an automatic playoff bid for its conference champion even without the formal NCAA status. “We think our structure makes a lot of sense, particularly in this time of change,” Luck said. “We all know what happens with realignment: It’s sort of the top level – Power-Five – and how that trickles down to a lot of the FCS schools. We believe that we’re on the right track; we’ll continue to work with our friends at the NCAA to get formal acknowledgement.” theanalyst.com/na/2023/07/new-united-athletic-conference-eyeing-growth-both-on-off-the-field/

Multiple stars always feels right at North Alabama….watching the media days in the background at the office. Central Arkansas brings their all super duper stud running back, why in the world did our former back go there? Closer to home yes, but also likely closer to the bench too. Ready to watch our guys and coach. So far the players for everyone look very impressive just in street clothes.

Ready to watch our guys and coach. So far the players for everyone look very impressive just in street clothes. Hard to understand the motivations of a 19 year old, obviously. I wonder how hard Central Arkansas recruited him out of high school? There might be a coach there he feels more comfortable with, especially after our previous staff was let go. RB is still a position of concern for me. Wish we had been able to bring in an impact guy in the offseason. I think Kennebrew could have a huge year for us, which is no doubt one of the reasons he was brought to the event today.

I thought he said FCS is 100% our focus... He has been on record multiple times in interviews saying they are just focused on FCS at the moment.

With that being said, I listened to another interview with Luck, and if I find it again I will link it.
He said that they are trying to find innovative ways to bring more attention to the UAC and FCS in general with media, beit through ESPN or other ways.
I think he, and the conference is trying to spotlight FCS nationally and in turn may be more lucrative for schools to stay in FCS...

Watching the other UAC teams media interviews right now. Interestingly the Southern Utah coach was Dearmon's coach back in the day. He is high on Dearmon and glad that he has another year before they face each other. Basically says he will have to be ready for that game because Dearmon is a good coach.
