So while at a theme park in Louisville today with the family, an EKU fan saw my North Alabama shirt and came over. He said he saw our North Alabama tag in the parking lot first or he figured that was our car. Really nice family and seemed excited to be in the conference with rest of the current members of the league. He is concerned with the conference after this year. I let him know we share those same concerns. We passed the Bellarmine exit on the way here. Kentucky and Tennessee university’s are definitely a major part of the blueprint of ASUN….maybe even more so after 2022? That's awesome, seem like stuff like that happens to me a lot. Yesterday I ran into a APSU fan and a Kennesaw state fan, both in Florence. Didn't talk to the KSU fan, she was wearing a KSU football shirts so I assume she is a fan, or got a goodwill shirt? The APSU fan was in his late 60s, and used to be on some board with them. I asked him what he thinks about joining the ASUN and he said, "As long as we are not in the OVC, I'm happy." He said he expects 2 more OVC defections in the next 2 years to come to the ASUN. He also said he don't think EKU will leave the ASUN anytime soon, he said it would surprise him because they are "A classy bunch." He also said he is glad to be affiliated with UNA by being in the same conference. All the EKU fans online seem to be great. KSU too. Haven't really seen much of an online presence from APSU, though. Hopefully that'll change soon. I'm happy with the football schools in our conference. I think we fit in much better with these schools than Delta State, West Alabama, etc. Nothing against them - obviously we have a lot of history with them - but they aren't exactly candidates to grow much in the coming years. We can and will.

Wonder how the quarterback race is going? So many…who stays and who leaves? Feel like Pope starts game 1, but who else will see the field? Gipson? Files? Both can play. Does Harris and Walter’s have a package for a few games? Also we have 2 numbers from 0-7. Which means an offensive guy wearing 0 and defensive guy wearing 0 all the way through 7.
New linebacker addition AJ Phillips gives us 3 linebackers at 225Ibs or more, 2 transfers and freshman. Fitzpatrick and at defensive back playing at 218Ibs, could easily slide into the box too.
Glad they updated 51 Shoulders weight…297Ibs….5’9” is quite a load in the middle. He played with so much heart last year. Bland with size and progress last year really made some plays from the middle.
Less than 2 weeks till kickoff!

Just saw the pics of the offensive line, quarterbacks, and running backs. Collier #22 has quite a bit of muscle on him checking in at 199Ibs. He looks bigger, much bigger. Hope he is the runner they say he is in game. Driggers and Powell are so fast, hoping Fau will be making holes for those guys. He too is a haas at 340Ibs. If the oline play is better and hearing it is better, we will be tough to defend if we get steady Qb play and protect the ball.

Predictions for this season: I'm more of a realist/pessimist view, and I see a 4-7 season, and then a coaching change will happen... An Absolute best scenario would be 6-5, and the team is showing improvement and competing within the conference. If they finish 5-6, what does the administration do? Another losing season, but do they change coaches? If another losing season, that would be 4 straight losing seasons, same thing happened 1999-2002; then shortly after, they went on a run of 8 of 9 seasons with winning 9 or more games. Im with you here. Only sure win to me is UVA-Wise. So worst case scenario is 1-10, best case would be 5-6. Thats winning all games at braly plus pulling upset on the road. It looks like the coaching staff is going with my worst case scenario.
