I feel like 7 wins is attainable this year. Anything above 7 wins would be welcomed and a little surprising. We need Driggers to be recovered and healthy, which hopefully by now he is back to full strength. Bland stays healthy and oline continues to improve, and I expect more consistency from quarterbacks. I think an awful year is anything less than 6 wins. What have you seen from this coaching staff, organization, schedule, and team makes you think 7 wins is attainable? Running backs will be one of the worst position groups for this team. One of the main problems is that you say quarterbacks with a "s." There should be 1 guy maybe 2 in special goal line/running situations. Not having the main QB is not good for the QB room or the offense period to develop chemistry. First year with these coaches, so we will learn a lot more about them in game one. I am basing my win totals on our returning talent and high level transfers and freshman coming in this year. We were good last year and actually competed in every game last year except for UTC on offense. Defense held up incredibly well after all those 3 and outs and turnovers. We had to make a change on offense. Sure on offense we scored a lot points, but offense was scoring for both sides last year. We cut those mistakes down and this season has potential to be exciting. Exciting.

Predictions for this season: I'm more of a realist/pessimist view, and I see a 4-7 season, and then a coaching change will happen... An Absolute best scenario would be 6-5, and the team is showing improvement and competing within the conference. If they finish 5-6, what does the administration do? Another losing season, but do they change coaches? If another losing season, that would be 4 straight losing seasons, same thing happened 1999-2002; then shortly after, they went on a run of 8 of 9 seasons with winning 9 or more games. As to finishing 5-6, I would judge based on who those losses are to, and how those games went. If you want to be 100% honest, the only teams on our schedule we can say we are likely "better than" on August 2nd are UVA-Wise and maybe Tennessee Tech. So winning 3 other games would be somewhat of an "achievement". But what if we do that and go 0-5 in our conference games? Even if they are close losses, that will be tough to accept. I would certainly make a coaching change if we finish something worse than 5-6. At some point we HAVE to show some progress.

You can say we hung in there with some teams last year, but I don't think we got Kennesaw, Monmouth, or NC A&T's best shot, and they knew they could play at 75% and beat UNA.

I think we beat Indiana State, UV Wise, and Tennessee Tech, and Tarleton.
I think we can beat APSU, JSU, and EKU.
If we beat KSU, Chattanooga or Memphis it will be a shocker.
I say we win at least 5.
If we have any kind of momentum we could win 7-8.

So while at a theme park in Louisville today with the family, an EKU fan saw my North Alabama shirt and came over. He said he saw our North Alabama tag in the parking lot first or he figured that was our car. Really nice family and seemed excited to be in the conference with rest of the current members of the league. He is concerned with the conference after this year. I let him know we share those same concerns. We passed the Bellarmine exit on the way here. Kentucky and Tennessee university’s are definitely a major part of the blueprint of ASUN….maybe even more so after 2022?

Im with you here. Only sure win to me is UVA-Wise. So worst case scenario is 1-10, best case would be 5-6. Thats winning all games at braly plus pulling upset on the road.

Willis’ seat can’t be any hotter, IMO. He needs a winning record this season.

HERO Sports’ Power Ranking Because the renewed partnership wasn’t announced until May, these teams are not all playing each other. We don’t currently know how the auto-bid will be decided if two teams share the same record. So instead of doing our usual Predicted Order of Finish here, we will rank the playoff-eligible teams.1. Stephen F. Austin 2. Kennesaw State 3. Eastern Kentucky 4. Central Arkansas 5. Austin Peay 6. Abilene Christian 7. North Alabama 8. I'm a little surprised the JSU game at Toyota Field isn't already sold out. They are promoting it hard on social media. I think each school's allotment of tickets is sold out but single-seat tickets and other options are still available.

It will be a packed house. Plus, tailgaters in the parking areas and surrounding resterants. Looking forward to it. Hope we get the “W”.

I had every intention of going, but it's during our kids' fall break and we are going on vacation. I hate that I'll miss it. But, kids and family come first of course.
I do hope it sells out and that everyone has a great time. Well, not the Cocky fans.

Yesterday I ran into a APSU fan and a Kennesaw state fan, both in Florence. Didn't talk to the KSU fan, she was wearing a KSU football shirts so I assume she is a fan, or got a goodwill shirt? The APSU fan was in his late 60s, and used to be on some board with them. I asked him what he thinks about joining the ASUN and he said, "As long as we are not in the OVC, I'm happy." He said he expects 2 more OVC defections in the next 2 years to come to the ASUN. He also said he don't think EKU will leave the ASUN anytime soon, he said it would surprise him because they are "A classy bunch." He also said he is glad to be affiliated with UNA by being in the same conference.

I talked my boss into getting one of the suites. We are inviting around 15 customers and spouses. Really nice set up there. All the UNA hard backs seats are sold out. Trash Panda management said they were bringing in some additional seating for the game.
Roar Lions!
I am ready to watch game 1. Pumped actually
I got my season tickets this week. Wonder if the general admission would work for that game? I will call Janae tomorrow and ask.
Also noticed the 2022 football roster updated weights and some players. Interesting some of the changes to our guys weights.
