Soccer is getting us started on the wrong foot for the 2019-2020 season . I don't think there is a single bit of gold on that uni (or "kit" as they say?). I realize this uniform is probably unchanged from last year, but still. Gross and disgusting. una will continue to hemorrhage fans and supporters alike as long as they insist on disrespecting the traditions of the school. We continue to barely tread water, attendance-wise as new fans barely make up for the thousands they've lost due to their ignorance and stubbornness.

I just want to commend this thread for being the single longest running topic on here. Lol. Wow.

Yes I think we are. It's time we get whoever to realize, we Aren't the purple and white or black or gray or indigo. We are, and always have been the purple and GOLD, regardless of shade and that's what we should be forever. Is an embarrassment to see us milling around like we are color blind or dumb. FSU, UNA, or North Alabama. We ARE the Purple and GOLD and we need to start acting like it. My cousin runs a screen printing business. Maybe we should get him to print up a large number of shirts stating we are the purple and GOLD with the gold most prominent and sell them at the games. If UNA gets pissed that more of our colorful shirts are selling than their dull, drab purple shirts, maybe they will open their eyes. We could legally do that by not mentioning the school or team.

Judging by this tweet, the ladies will have new basketball unis this year. Despite black being used as trim (ugh), I think the overall look is nice. Definitely more gold than the men’s road purples, which have no gold at all!
Edit to add, now that I think about it, the ladies’ road unis last year didn’t have any gold except the logo on the shorts. They were trimmed in white. So... baby steps?

From what I've been told, after many, many complaints, more of an effort to use Gold is being made. But to what extent is up to the individual coach. I also made a recommendation that every uniform in every sport have a certain % of Gold in it. And that logos and styles should be similar across the board. But who am I? They have no reason to listen to me...

They have no reason to listen to me... I was one of the complaints, and was told part of it was supplier issues (have I mentioned that here?). Regardless of WHY we started using less gold, at least it seems to be trending back up. I absolutely agree about needing similar logos/designs. I feel like these two basketball uniforms look a lot more similar that they did with the ladies’ design last year. Still not perfect, but an improvement. The switch to adidas came at a pretty bad time, IMO, if there truly were issues providing more purple and gold equipment. We need to establish our brand. If we win a big men’s game and people see highlights on ESPN, they’ll come away with the impression our colors are purple and black. Same with soccer. A big softball win? Folks might think we’re purple and gray. Still work to be done.

So that's probably the reason for the black and grey gray every now and then.

We should definitely have uniform, consistent use of colors and logos. Right now is a mix of old and new. The old "gold" color is awful. I really like the new one.

We should definitely have uniform, consistent use of colors and logos. Right now is a mix of old and new. The old "gold" color is awful. I really like the new one. LSU, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, LA Lakers type gold Beats the hell out of anything we've had in the last 25 years by MILES! The Redskins gold pants look great! They are flashy and shiny, much the way UNA'S pants were in the 80s. From NBC Sports: The intense burgundy combined with the rich gold is a wonderful look. Now that the team has started to wear the gold pants much more often, it's a look that has gotten even better. That bright gold lights up when teamed with a dark jersey like purple or burgundy or dark green. The International Team’s collection is fashioned under their Presidents Cup team flag colors, featuring blue and gold prominently. The 49ers wear the tan gold which is almost as dull as purple. Golden States gold is rather light compared to LSU and Green Bay. A lot of legendary programs, both college and pro, have sported the standout gold over the dirty, rusty look of notre dame and the pale, colorless look of kakis worn by the 49s and UNA for one game. The Nashville Predators quickly ditched the mustard yellow of the first couple of years. They look awesome with their dark blue and yellow but would have looked even more dynamic if they had gone with the bright gold.

Following up on my post about the new women’s’ unis, this appears to be the home whites. I like it. The ladies will definitely look better than the men this season.

Obviously I love the idea of this helmet, but WHY was the lion white instead of gold??? I just don’t get it. It’s like they’re doing it just to spite us at this point.
Interestingly, I tweeted about this myself and the University’s main account liked it. Also noticed the theme for Homecoming was “The Gold Standard”. Is it too much to ask for them all to be on the same page?

Watching yesterday I thought there might be a gold outline, but I was watching on my iPad and it was just too difficult to make it out. It gets lost against the white.
