The white away uniform was never the topic. They only wear white at home during SEC games. Non conference home games they wear purple (most of the time) So the vast majority of the time they wear the white shirts and gold pants. Right

Yellow or gold, I've always just said I wanted to see consistency. If our football team is using gold, our women's basketball team shouldn't be using yellow. Same with those dang social media accounts. On Twitter for example, most sports are now using the gold North Alabama logo for their avatar, with the name of the sport underneath. But then you have women's basketball with some weird custom logo, and softball using the old yellow logo. I get that it's something few people will notice or care about, but at the same time, there's no reason to NOT be consistent across the board, right?
To be fair, I guess those two sports have always sort of went against the grain. I remember the Lady Vols years ago wearing baby blue as a trim color. The Alabama softball team is the only one there, I think, that mixes in black in their uniforms. So maybe I just shouldn't fight this haha.

It's that simple. I'm shocked that UA let any team sway from their exact school colors. They are normally exact and never stray. That's the model to follow.

And besides, at least when it comes to something like social media that is so prevalent with kids, and so easy to be consistent with colors/branding/etc., why would you not be? I think for whatever reason the women's sports all throughout the college level have had the leeway to do non-school colors for years now. I guess I feel a little bad about complaining, because I know some of those sports have been on the short end of both funding and fan support. But I still don't like it. Look at our softball uniforms. I love that we won the NC a few years ago, but our uniforms have been atrocious for the most part. Various black/gray/purple combinations, camouflage, etc.

I really fell in love with gold in the mid 70s. One of UNA's bsketball players was a 6 foot 7 clothing designer, Sonjario Steed. He came up with gold uniforms that didn't have to be tucked in. It was light enough to wear at home and dark enough to wear on the road. UNA Became one of the dominant teams in the nation and they looked the part. The Michigan Fab Five years looked like a knock off of Steed's work. They NEVER wore blue except for trim.

They are finally adding purple and gold this season not like the past few seasons when they only said purple.
Friday August 31st is College Colors Day!! Let’s show our Lion pride and wear purple and gold all day this Friday!

Or maybe it was a ploy by the athletic department to get everybody to dump their purple and cheddar merchandise before the switch to the new gold

I said it over in the thread for last night’s men’s game, but I’ll say it again here... I’m pretty disappointed with the road uniforms we were wearing last night, for both men and women. For the men, I had noticed that on Twitter they had posted a lot of pictures leading up to last night of our guys in uniform... but it was always the home whites. And to be fair, the wording on the home unis seem to be trimmed in gold. Maybe they were truly trying to hide the road uniforms for fear of angering us fans, because what they wore last night was awful. Purple and black is already a bad color combo, but not one single bit of gold? That’s just fantastic. The first highlights a lot of folks nationally will see of our basketball team, and they’ll be left thinking we took our colors from Northwestern.
The women’s road unis aren’t great either, as they are almost all purple and white (there’s gold in the UNA logo on the shorts). But they are the same as what we wore last year. I have already complained about them, ha.
As I’ve said in the past - these things are all trivial in the grand scheme of things. I know that and don’t let it ruin my day. If wearing pink helped our teams win, I’d be all for it. But until colors make a difference in the outcome of games, I’ll continue to “rage” about our university not using our damn colors.

It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention last night’s home basketball uniforms. The women’s have not changed since last year. They have gold lettering. I wouldn’t say they look great, but the gold is there.
For the men, the home uniforms don’t have any black, thankfully. They have gold in striping on the leg, and I believe outlining the lettering and numbers. It looks fine. They are a little plain, but again, at least they don’t have black. I still say that these uniforms reversed would have looked pretty darn sharp. It’s a shame that all the striping and trim on the away unis is black.
I intend to send Kitts an email, perhaps this week. I know it won’t change anything this year, and maybe not even next year. I assume these uniforms, being brand new, will at least be used for 2-3 years.

I will be sending my third email...

We definitely COULD change next year if enough people let their frustration be known.
