Finally found the time to shoot off a couple of emails this morning. Will it change anything? Certainly not in the short-term, but hopefully it will help some folks at the University understand how important this matter is to some of us.

Old thread here, but I’m following up on some previous discussion. Going back to last year, I was told in some emails with our athletic department that one of the big reasons our basketball uniforms had so much black and so little gold, was due to Adidas not having a proper purple/gold template. I was also informed that there was hope, with the signing of Washington as an Adidas school, that more purple and gold combinations would be coming online. You might think making sure a company offered plenty of purple and gold combos before we signed with them would’ve been a priority, but... I digress. Washington will officially unveil their Adidas unis, likely for all sports, this Wednesday (July 10). They had been using a lot of black lately, but a leaked pic of their football uniforms seems to show that being dialed back ( Pictures here). I would kill for those gold pants to be worked into our rotation. I don’t expect the basketball uniforms to actually be changed this year. I’m sure they want to use that set more than one season. But hopefully we’ll see this “Washington gold” start trickling down through all our sports sooner than later.

How does Adidas not have one of the most popular colors in sports uniforms?
What it amounts to is, we didnt have the clout to get a custom design and had to use whatever we could get.
But my problem with the argument is, I dont think Adidas is screen printing out stuff. And every screen printing operation has a variety of golds... So, get purple or white and have gold added locally. The baseball team had no problem putting gold on theirs, they even have a gold top...
I would love a Gold helmet with the Lion on it though...

Agree completely. I didn’t believe this 100% at the time, and still don’t. I don’t know why gold has become so scarce on our unis. Maybe the players didn’t want it. Maybe the coaches didn’t. Maybe there WERE supplier issues. Who knows. But hopefully the pendulum will swing back the other direction at some point. The trend is moving back towards bright colors, or at least away from black. So hopefully whoever or whatever is behind this nonsense will wise up soon.

Apparently Washington did NOT reveal their Adidas uniforms for every sport yesterday, just football. Pictures here. I have been a supporter of "old gold", and I'll be honest, swap out all the Washington "W"s with our logo and the purple jersey/gold pant combination is just perfect. Now change the Leaping Lion in my avatar to a gold shell, and pair it with those two... oh man.

If we could GET A group of at least 20 solid, Lions First, supporters together and pay Kitts and Linder a visit, we might sway them to do what's right. Whether it's old gold or LSU gold, BOTH beat the hell outta the dreary purple and white and black and gray etc.

Football has the most gold in their uniforms than any other sport IMO Agree, them and baseball. The baseball team had a nice gold alternate jersey. Biggest offenders are men's basketball and softball. I don't think softball had a single stitch of gold. It's all purple, white, black, and grey. Though I'll admit, I've seen a lot of other softball teams stray pretty far from the school colors. Men's b-ball away unis are simply purple/black/white. That's Northwestern, not UNA. Looks horrible.

New football unis! Orange very prevalent on front. Back is black with green numbers and a rainbow with a small flag of islam on both shoulders. The word, "Alabama" has been completely sanitized (for obvious reasons) we will now be known as Tennessee Understate University.

Soccer is getting us started on the wrong foot for the 2019-2020 season . I don't think there is a single bit of gold on that uni (or "kit" as they say?). I realize this uniform is probably unchanged from last year, but still.
