I just realized what the NA logo reminds me of...
Y'all remember Arkansas-Monticello's logo was like with the tangled AM?
I don't have a pic, but it just hit me...

And those mascots are so great... Boll Weevils and Cotton Blossoms. I kinda miss playing those teams sometimes. The "NA" still hasn't grown on me. It just feels like an intentional effort to forget our history and move away from UNA, which makes no sense. There are no other "UNA"s in D1. Northern Arizona is NAU. Our brand has always been "UNA". I get (some of) the reasons for wanting to emphasize North Alabama, but still. They could've at least worked a U into the negative space in the logo. Even something subtle would be a nice nod to the past. And I'm still mad about the lack of gold, lol.

But I have been "reassured" that Gold will be in it as soon as a shade is agreed for the whole University and not different shades.

You know they could outline that purple NA with gold similar to how Auburn outlined the blue AU with orange. Just saying there are ways to slap some lipstick on and purty it up.

That would look awesome... But, I'm one of the only people it seems that actually likes the NA logo... I think a Gold helmet with Purple NA would be sick...

One big disappointment on this new brand is no apparel listed online or most stores. I am not sure if it is at the UNA bookstore. I don't agree with rolling a new brand right before the football season. We have 2-3 brands in some of the facilities. They just redid the turf field with the "old brand."

It’s a cluster eff that’s for sure. But, it’s been that way for a while now. UNA has no idea how to develop, launch, and manage a brand. That’s very obvious.

Noticed last night that the old logo (gold of course) with fancy purple lighting still hangs on the end of the court where the luxury suite is.
It feels like a rushed decision. It's as if Looney came in, decided he wanted to put his own touch on the program, and this is the result. Now I have no idea if it's purely his fault or not, but it certainly feels like that could be a good theory.
I wouldn't even be as upset if they didn't insult our intelligence by dropping gold and using "NA" when we've almost exclusively been known as UNA for almost 50 years now.

My daughter who is a junior summed it up nicely…..”stupid”. She hates the NA on the helmets, thinks reason why team sucks is not only does the field not have UNA or LIons on it, neither does the helmets. Got to love a 16 year olds brutal honesty. She also said the helmets and the defense better be fixed before she gets there in couple of years.

Has anyone heard anything about UNA moving from Adidas?
Saw a lot of Under Armour boxes at the field house...

Has anyone heard anything about UNA moving from Adidas? Saw a lot of Under Armour boxes at the field house... Well I think it's pretty obvious. Adidas BANNED the use of gold, and we had to make a switch. This means we'll soon be back to purple and gold, right? Right???

From this morning's TimesDaily... while the staff is not busy recruiting, they are busy painting their offices in those traditional UNA colors... With most of the staff’s families still not moved into Florence, the coaches decided to spend their downtime breaking out the paint brushes and rollers. The staff would be out on the road or on the phone recruiting until lunchtime and then head down to the classrooms in Flowers Hall for some extra work and a little sweat equity.
Each room got a trio of colors — purple, white and gray. Some walls were stripped, some were one solid color. New logos were also put up. Overall, it was about a three-day process. The lines came out clean, too.
Ah yes. "The purple (and white and gray) are here to stay!"

After, what... 6+ months with a new logo and "brand", the university is finally offering a way for you to buy merchandise with the new logos. I would've made sure to have this ready when the logos actually debuted, but I know... that's just silly talk.
If you want something purple and gold, well... save your time and don't click. I'm not likely to buy anything until they bring gold back and stop with this ridiculous gray.
