Question:
The Azusa Coach got an unsportsmanlike penalty, did he hit one of our players. Willis made a comment that a Coach doesn’t touch a player. Was Willis referring to the Azusa Coach or to one our Assistants?

The Azusa coach, our coaches did nothing remotely close to that type of behavior. Shame. I wonder if the Hall of Famer Jackie Slater had anything to say to that assistant. I didn’t know he coached for them until after the game.

Glad they were OVC officials. Don't want Big South officials put off by our team before we even enter the conference.

Was Willis referring to the Azusa Coach or to one our Assistants? Our coaches were just acting immature about the deal, that's all I will say about that, and it wasn't all of them. You just had to BE there to understand. Wasn't very sportsman like.

The play happened on the AP sideline and our coaches were not even close to the action. Go back on lionvision and watch the game. I’ll put the link in for everyone that thinks we were in the wrong. Taylor was only wrong when he yelled at the ref on our bench

portal.stretchinternet.com/una/portal.htm?eventId=472879&streamType=video Y’all can watch it for yourselves. 4:56:30. He pushed the QB after the qb pushed our corner and the coach grabbed him then flailed like he got pushed. The view might be different from the back side since you were sitting on the visitor side. But this is the front copy of what everyone else is talking about

Willis didn't say what he said in the interview for nothing. And I know what I witnessed. The camera didn't show or pick up the audio of the UNA benches.

Now Brandon, you’re reaching..... the coaches were mad at our guys for talking back to the AP players on their sideline. They were yelling at our guys to get from over across the field to where their players were. They yelled at amanfo to run and get our corner who kept talking to the AP players on their bench. Man I’m starting to wonder if we even watched the same game. You have your personal point of view but it’s twisted. Like I said, I was on the sidelines during the game and I saw from the coaches and players point of views. I don’t think anybody was wrong until our linebacker yelled at the ref that wasn’t even in the action across the field

I'm not reaching.

I wasn't at the game and have only seen the video. Isn't it possible that it was a combination of what both mrbigshot and brandon are saying? Poe may have been losing his cool yelling at our own players, and not anyone from APU. But as a coach, you have to diffuse these situations. You need to show your players that you support them, yes. I think that can be done in a way where a coach doesn't have to "show his ass". The players are already emotional. You have to help them calm down.
Just a thought.

Often times it's a player not even involved that makes the situation worse.

And I'm not trying to sound like it was Gabe Poe who was the coach or in with the coaches in question, he may have very well been yelling to try to gain some order. But there were coaches I could see and hear egging it on, that, it my opinion is what Willis qaa talking about.

No wonder Taylor lost his cool! He had a fumble recovery, two interceptions and a touch down called back. If I were a 19 year old playing my butt off, I probably would have done the same.
