Got 5 turnovers but gave up 503 yards of offense (401 of them passing yardage).

And they get the two points, ahead by one with a bit more than a minute left in the game. If we can't beat a D2 team with five turnovers in our favor, the future looks grim indeed. A distressing number of personal fouls on the Lions demonstrates a shocking lack of discipline. They aren't just any ole D2 team. Anyone who's ever played any sport that mother nature decides to disrupt knows how off kilter things can get.

Chris was ticked off about more than our players behavior and performance. I doubt he shook any hands from the other staff. Until tonight, I haven't seen any evidence of a problem with discipline. This was just one of those nights. Maybe there was a full moon or biorhythms were blasted to heck. Who knows but it certainly was out of character.

By Jeff McIntyre Assistant Sports Editor A bizarre night ended with a fantastic finish for North Alabama.
Chandler Carrera kicked a 38-yard field goal as time expired to give the Lions a thrilling 37-35 victory over Azusa Pacific in a game that started two and a half hours late due to lightning in the area and ended shortly before midnight.
UNA (3-1) got the win despite blowing several scoring opportunities. UNA lost a touchdown and an interception due to penalties. But Carrera came through for UNA time and time again. The senior was 5 for 5 on field goals and has now made 21 of his last 23 attempts going back to last year.
The Lions appeared to have the game won with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Christian Lopez found Dexter Boykin, who outjumped a defender in the corner of the end zone to complete a 12-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the fourth quarter to put UNA up 27-20 after Lopez ran for the 2-point conversion.
The Lions extended their lead with a trick play. Lopez threw a pass behind the line of scrimmage to Morris, who then found a wide-open Terence Humphrey for a 35-yard touchdown play that made it 34-20 with 8:48 remaining. The Lions forced 5 turnovers.
UNA hurt itself with penalties, finishing with 10 for 118 yards.

We have one of the most talented young linebackers in the country....he gets way too many warnings and unsportsmanlike penalties. He better find a way to play like a man or he will not be playing here much longer. His immaturity on the Field is embarrassing, talent undeniable, but we have capable backups that do not embarrass the brand.
I have a feeling we will see a different lineup next week, hope some coaches step up or they will not be coaching here. Coach was thoroughly disgusted last night, for good reason.

My point of view after getting soaked for 3 hour before kickoff...
The Lions looked tired, and not interested. They overall looked like they didn't want to be put there. I understand, everything was playing against the Lions, the Weather, after playing 3 D1 games, gotta play a D2 game, basically empty stands because of the weather. We looked slow and tired to say the least. I was on the Royal Avenue side, I could hear Willis across the way, he was very upset with our players. I was too, not just for they way they played, but the way they carried theirselves in various situations. It was embarrassing.
The refs, worse I have ever seen, I thought they were Big South officials as well, but at halftime I ran into the Chain gang and talked to them, the chain gang was Big South, the officials were OVC. I was explained that the Big South and ACC share officials, they probably will not do any of our games this year at home. If they are not doing ACC games that week, they do Big South games. But the refs we had weren't good in any sense. But I will say they was bad both ways.
There is absolutely no excuse for how they played and acted. Hopefully all will be addressed this week and took care of.
