Any rumblings of NDSU following the recent wave of schools to FBS? Like App. State, GA Southern, and Liberty? Nothing. We are a geographic outlier for most conferences. It would also likely necessitate building a new stadium, as the Fargodome is currently at capacity and can't be expanded in a cost-effective manner. Oh, wow. Didn't even think about the stadium not fitting the criteria. What are FBS stadium requirements?

Didn't even think about the stadium not fitting the criteria. What are FBS stadium requirements? It meets the requirement, at ~19K packed out. NCAA min is 15K. No conference would look at us without a larger one though. We would also likely need the additional revenue a larger stadium generates. We try not to use student fees to fund the athletic programs, instead using ticket sales ad donations. Our tickets and donations have been climbing steadily in price. Eventually, we will hit a breaking point. There is also a massive waiting list for season tickets that we can't fulfill. People are literally waiting for current ticket holders to die. s3.amazonaws.com/sidearm.sites/gobison.sidearmsports.com/documents/2018/4/11/Football_Season_Ticket_Seating_Chart_Prices_2018.pdf

Excited for this game and after tracking down some highlights I'm impressed with some of the young guns you have at the skill positions. You'll complete some passes. Unfortunately the trenches may be tough on the lions in Fargo. Besides a scrambling athletic QB I'm not seeing you run game doing much damage which will lead to a lot of hits on him. We'll rotate 7-8 guys at DE without much drop off. We've never been deeper on the D line. O line (from the coaches) is probably the best line we've also ever had. If this team stays healthy it may challenge the 2013 Bizon for the best team we've ever had. Bizon fans will have a lot of respect for your program but this may not be the year to have the best showing. Anyone who is thinking about coming to the game should make it happen! You will not regret swinging through the tailgate lot early. You will leave significantly drunker and well fed. Things that could lead to trouble for us. Backup QB is a real question mark. We'll probably run Easton as little as possible. LB depth is a big question mark as well. Top three guys are studs but they go down and who knows. Lastly WR seems not to be a question mark but more a straight up weakness. We do not seem to have guys that go up and win 1 on 1 battles. Possession receivers who make the catches they should make. For food Fargo likes/ gets excited for chains way more than is normal. Our food advice is terrible. I like JL beers. You won't be disappointed with a great burger and some beer.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=zymiREymZT0In this game Montana beat us week one with a spread offense with no film (parallels to SUU) and we destroyed them with a much better gameplan in the playoffs. Also game one was at Montana and we were breaking in some young guns. Couple years old game but several players are playing this week. SS Grimsley, DE Menard, QB Stick, CB Allison, WR Shepherd, RB's Anderson and Dunn. I think this is (historically) how we try to defend you guys. Keep 4-3 on the field with atheletic LB's but spread them out and tempt you to run thinking we can win with 5 in the box and a LB crashing in from outside. Might go more nickle because of the depth in the secondary this year and our LB's might not be quite as fast/cover as well in space. #42 Jabril Cox is a beast

For any fans coming to Fargo. The morning tailgate is where you want to be. Don't worry, nobody will be unfriendly, maybe a few boos but none that are serious. I'd just wander around and follow your nose. The biggest problem you will have is trying to escape each group without having too much food and drinks handed to you. We are mostly a friendly people up here.
Following the game if you have time to kill walk across the street to the Buffalo Wild Wings, or over to the Herd and Horns, or maybe labby's. I wouldn't even be worried about getting a seat, because there will be many groups inviting you to sit with them and talk about football.
Friday night I'd go to Herd and Horns, the Bison Turf, Chubs Pub, Lucky's 13, or wander around downtown. There's everything from dive bars to upscale downtown. I'd try to hit a few places. A lot of people tend to find one place and park themselves there for the whole night, missing out on some other really cool places.

Used to have to average 25 thousand to be in FBS which led to a truckload of falsifying attendance reports. Not sure if that rule is still in effect.

Bison fan. Also just an avid football fan. I come in peace.
First of all, congratulations on moving to the FCS. UNA has a strong history and I look forward to seeing what you become as you become established. An outstanding Division II team can, I believe, compete very well at the FCS level and your first two games have done NOTHING to change that opinion.
Much respect to you. I think you have a strong program. I think that NDSU will likely win the game on Saturday And I wouldn't be shocked if UNA establishes themselves within the next couple of years as a team to be reckoned with on a regular basis. And the whole league is better when there are more good teams.

Yeah, it will take a while. Some people didn't want to move up because they don't believe we will ever be able to compete. We were competing in the late 70's and through the 80s when NDSU, Jax State, Troy State, UT-Martin, SE Louisiana, Nichols State and on and on, were still in D2. We have the resources so there's no reason we can't. We'll just have to take our lumps for a while but it will be worth it. When I got old enough to start road-tripping, it was obvious we didn't belong in the GSC. We should have left after the '95 season but big wheels didn't want to give up the National Championship Game. But better late than never!
It doesn't bother me to see pros get hurt (not that I watch them anymore) because they are being paid tons of money to act like children. Sometimes it's agonizing to see a college player get hurt and know that it's probably over for him and all those years of hard work and dedication all go down the drain. May that not happen to anyone Saturday.
