UNA D1 news: This is the kind of game day atmosphere UNA will face on September 15 when they take on the Alabama (NDSU has been MORE successful than Bama over the last ten years) of Division 1-AA (FCS) in the Dome in Fargo, North Dakota.Hopefully some day the people of the Shoals will realize THIS is the way it's supposed to be! youtu.be/UV4YRL5d-98Do you think that isn't FUN? Do you think that's not the greatest way to spend a Saturday in the fall? THAT could be US! WE could have that here.

Already have hotel reservations in Fargo, across from the dome! Flights are kinda hard to come by, but will keep watching.

It takes a group to start the atmosphere. I have noticed people that want to stand up and yell, will first look around to see what others are doing before they do it. We can get groups to sit together in the middle of the crowds and get something started.

Let me know if you have any questions about NDSU or Fargo.
The game atmosphere is quite nice.

Looks like football in a gym. Weird.

The second time Gameday came, more people showed up. They heard how fun it was the first time.

In any case, Tuscaloosa or not, we need to step up our fansmanship.(don't know if that's an actual word.)

I been in some big, loud crowds when Hud was coaching, and I hate to say it, but Bowdens era had some big, loud crowds as well, I remember 1 game against Delta St that was extremely loud. Great atmosphere right up until Jenkins got stupid. The Championship games were intense as well. And what I remember of the couple of times I was able to attend UNA vs JSU/Troy was the loudest ever. So yeah, we have had very loud and great atmospheres at UNA.

This would be a good time for those forum members who would like to meet to get together. Pick spot in the stadium watch the game and shoot the breeze for a bit. Could find out support for your earlier suggestion of tailgate. Could discuss possibility of getting a contingent to some of the road games and so forth. Just a thought.

I've seen a few good crowd-involved games but very few. Sure, the title years and those you mentioned but most of that was a decade or more ago. Recently, they've been few and far between and that decline mainly coincided with Bama's (and Auburn's) rise to being in the title hunt every year. One recent game that sticks out was the last second FG a couple of seasons back to beat VSU. The folks that stayed for the end of that game really got into it. Are ND and SD the only states with no FBS football?

The game with West Alabama, in 2015 I believe, that went down to the wire was one of the most involved I've seen the entire crowd at a UNA football game outside of the first NC game. Of course I'm not including the huge games with Troy State and Jax State even on the road. The playoff war with Valdosta State in 1994 was incredible! The stadium wasn't full but almost everyone who was there was highly involved. If it hadn't been for UNA, VSU would have SIX National Championships right now.
