But, hey. Dallas Howell scored 17 points today. He usually scores less than 10 points a game, so that was a big deal.

Lions had 2 points on second chance points? Are we that lazy? How pitiful is that in a college game. They 11 second chance points, so they played with some effort. Anytime we score less than 70 in a game we should lose. I don’t know if either of our basketball coaches give us much of a chance in conference? We can’t keep getting beat by teams that look like they have lesser talent?

ACC is suspended by the conference for this game at Samford today. I see her jawing at a ref pretty hard in the last game but she wasn’t called for a technical. Weird they’d decide to suspend a player if they didn’t even get a foul called by the ref. It may be for something different, though.
Tweedie is out hurt. Lions down by 1 at the half.

Huge 3rd Qtr. Lions up 14 going into the 4th. Gotta finish strong if they want their first road win of the season.

Lions almost gave it away at the end but get the win despite 25 turnovers. Callins, Clutter, and Wohlgemuth got it done.

Clutter basically took over and won it in the third quarter. Her and Callins give and go was good fundamental basketball. Clutter stealing the inbounds and pushing it down the court after rebounds is all her. She is easily the energy player and gets the team going. Good win, need to eliminate all those turnovers. Samford had a lot of bad bad turnovers too. Throwing the inbounds pass to a defender? We will take it but doing more than once is a bad look. Again we will take it. Announcers were saying with our poor record and looking ahead to playing Arkansas may be the reason for the struggles with Samford. We just looked better, other than their freshman guard who looked solid.

The first half was ugly for both teams. 25-24 at the half. Then the Lions exploded in the 3rd to then finish the game scoreless for the last 3 mins. A win is a win, though! Howard played well inside but had a couple of fluke fouls called and maybe a couple that weren’t that should have been.

Lions down 25-22 at the end of the first. Only had two more points than that at halftime of the last game. Pretty good showing against the reigning OVC champs so far.
Men play Indiana at 7:30. I may do a free trial of Fubo to watch it.

Well I finally got to turn on the game and it was late in the 4th and over. Another game under 70 points and a loss. Lions actually shot a better FG%. Turnovers at 20 a game are terrible. Getting beat on rebounds by 10 also hurt. The issue appears to be the lack of depth. Our bench doesn’t produce when in the game. 27 point difference in bench points. No production from our point guard, 2 pts? Charlatan had 25 points and made all her free throws and only 2 turnovers. She needs to be on floor all the time. Callins, Cruce, and Clutter each had 5 turnovers, 15 of the turnovers came from those three. Pitiful. Clutter did pull in 7 rebounds. We had 3 players hit double digits scoring, but they had 4 players in double digit scoring and two almost in double digits. We didn’t have a fifth player close….

Hoosiers making everything tonight. We hit 2 threes before half and they answered with two of their own. 4 threes made in 55 seconds. Wow. KState was a much better host, didn’t make anything until the end.

Would've been nice to keep the men's game closer, but it is what it is.
I'm much more upset about the women's game. I think Tennessee Tech is a good team (made the tournament last year), but at the same time, it just continues the trend of us getting beat by almost every decent team we've played. You just can't lose home games against other mid-major competition.
Every time I think this team has taken a step forward (almost beating Chattanooga, winning @ Samford)... they take two steps back.
