I'm interested to see how Milwee does at ASU. Akron is a dead-end job, and Bowden obviously couldn't do anything to turn things around there, so I don't think it's a good idea to judge AJ by what happened there. ASU has seen guys that coach there move on to one big school after another. There should be plenty of talent to work with. I could see him being the UNA head coach someday, especially after having multiple FBS coordinator positions on his resume.

He had to win this year, he didn’t. I hope he lands a good job somewhere.

I heard there were 3 as well. Waiting to see which coaches. Would think it would be O Line and Linebackers coach for sure, but we’ll see.

Special teams coach was the first coach that came to my mind. Offensive line, running back, and linebacker were easily in the next group. Hoping the search for new coaching hires do not overshadow our recruiting needs. We are close, we need a few more players to make at run at the conference next year. Felt crazy typing that with our record. We all know our record didn’t match our team. There are three games that just eat away at you. ….that’s the past. We can win something this year! Exciting! Our coaches will likely have a little more pep in their step. Worrying about keeping the team motivated will be gone. One less distraction and a big one at that for the team and coaches. Don’t envy any program looking to move from D2 to FCS. The four year really needs to be looked at by the NCAA.

That OL coach had to be the worst one on the staff. Not good at recruiting and Willis gives him a promotion to Co-OC. LOL what a joke

That OL coach had to be the worst one on the staff. Not good at recruiting and Willis gives him a promotion to Co-OC. LOL what a joke I agree, that was a head scratcher. I’d be fine with making Tyler Rice the sole OC and see what he can do. He seems to be well-liked by the players. He’s in a lot of their pictures on Twitter, anyway. If he does become the OC, I’d prefer to make someone else recruiting coordinator. If the coaching staff bios on RoarLions.com are correct, he already shares that with Colby Ellis. Being both OC and recruiting coordinator sounds like too much for one guy. If we aren’t going to pay our coaches much, could we at least add another full-time coach and let recruiting coordinator be someone’s only focus? Especially since you have to scout both high school and potential transfers these days. I believe we’re still short on full-time coaches, right? Wonder when these changes will be made official…

Ok, this is not a former UNA coach, but he's currently a former UNA coach's offensive coordinator. Word on Twitter is that Jacksonville State will be hiring Rich Rodriguez as their new head coach. That is certainly an "out of left field" type move.
Funny enough, he supposedly backed out of the Alabama job he had been offered before Saban was hired, because his wife didn't want to live in Alabama.

We definitely should win quite a few games from JSU while he is there. If his wife thought she wouldn’t like Tuscaloosa, wait till she sees the nothing that is in Jacksonville.

This program is ruining itself. Willis has to be gone next year, right? How are you supposed to recruit any offensive guys without o line coach, OC, QB coach, and your 3 most experienced guys are defensive minded!?

How are you supposed to recruit any offensive guys without o line coach, OC, QB coach, and your 3 most experienced guys are defensive minded!? I said a few days ago I'd be fine with keeping Rice and just promoting him to the sole OC position. Who knows what's going on behind the scenes, though. This COULD be one of those situations where the head coach is forced to make some changes in a last-ditch effort to save his own job. Willis makes it sound in the article like this was his decisions, but maybe he was pushed to make these choices. The recruiting part of it scares me, but we definitely need an offense that is more consistent. Hopefully we can find the right guy. If there's not significant improvement next year, we really need to fire Willis. But I'm willing to see what happens here. Maybe he surprises us and still gets this thing going in the right direction. Fingers crossed.

Glad Willis isn’t afraid to make decisions. Listen the offensive miscues kept this team from winning several games this year. The defense wasn’t fumbling the ball, or throwing interceptions for scores. I watched coach Willis in his interviews with Ben, every week he would make known his frustration over the offense doing the same dumb mistakes without improvement. Willis made the right decision, Ellis and Bunches on offense are still there to recruit. Coach Willis is an excellent recruiter, he loves to recruit and has a passion for it. We can’t want those coaches to be gone all year and then be upset when those coaches are gone. I imagine there are a couple of coordinators he has his eye on. The oline coach change is very exciting. We have underperformed at oline for years now. If you aren’t excited about these moves, you need to stop and evaluate the past season. The losses happened due to those coaches responsibilities. Offense turnovers and linebackers were just out of position way too often. We didn’t make any splash plays from linebacker position. How? I am excited to see what the spring will look like this year. Playoffs are bust.
