Of interest: Akron: Sources tell FootballScoop that Chattanooga head coach Tom Arth will accept the same position at Akron. I was surprised when the Mocs hired him, but a little surprised now that he's leaving. He hasn't really done a great job, record-wise. Plus the UTC offense apparently struggled this past year. They have certainly regressed as a program from the days when the Richmond coach, Russ Huesman, was here. Maybe Arth was a fish out of water down here. He definitely has Ohio roots. Since we play the Mocs in a few years, here's to them hiring someone that will continue to tank the program!

Hope they keep their hands off our OC fir a while. Or maybe Bowden or Milwee will take over the Mocs.

Some are saying that Arth leaving UTC isn't confirmed.

Really hoping that Arth doesn't get to Akron and offer a job to Aplin that he can't refuse. Not sure if Aplin would consider it, but he can't be making much at UNA compared to an FBS level school. I guess it would be an opportunity to move up the ranks as well.

Hud pulling from some decent programs for his staff.
Austin Peay (FCS – TN): Sources tell FootabllScoop that former Georgia Tech quarterbacks / B-Backs coach Craig Candeto has joined the staff as running backs coach and former Eastern Illinois (FCS) safeties coach Keith Scott will coach the Nickels.

Glad we were able to keep our staff together for another year. Our success next year will likely determine who we keep next year.

Tis the season. Tulane: Memphis tight ends coach Will Hall is expected to become Willie Fritz’ new OC reports Dan Wolken of USA Today. I'm interested to see how Milwee does at ASU. Akron is a dead-end job, and Bowden obviously couldn't do anything to turn things around there, so I don't think it's a good idea to judge AJ by what happened there. ASU has seen guys that coach there move on to one big school after another. There should be plenty of talent to work with.

They are 1-18 under their new coach.

He would bring in recruits after they visited football schools like Penn State or Pittsburgh and the recruits would ask where’s the indoor practice facility? We don’t have one. Where’s the players lounge? We don’t have one. Where’s the? We don’t have that it either....we are basketball first and then we also have football. Although he did knock off Virginia Tech...top 5 at the time.
