Just surpassed last years win total, and have wins over Alabama, Cincinnati, and Memphis. No doubt they’ve improved. Hopefully they can finish strong the second half of the season as the young guys mature. Just hope it doesn't leed to a contract extension...

But, yes, we seem to be winning a few we shouldn't, and only a few we should. Surely the new AD will look at the overall record and not just these handful of wins over SEC and G5. He's lost 110 games since the transition to D1 started and has only won 15 ASUN games. Currently, his D1 record is 34-110 (15-38).

The most important question is probably “what is the contract situation?”. I’m guessing UNA is unlikely to fire and pay a coach to leave. But, if his deal is up, it’s likely a no brainer decision.

Who would be some candidates from around the state if this is it for current staff?

Who would be some candidates from around the state if this is it for current staff? Willingham has to be top choice. Sadly, we probably have the lowest pay in the state other than maybe A&M so if we want anyone, we have to get that pay up. And sadly again, the only way to do that is from tickets sold. Until people start showing up at the majority of games or buying ticket packages, no more money will likely go to pay.

There's other avenue to generating revenue than just ticket revenue because I don't see UNA generating more revenue by getting more people to attend a below average baseball team with many people thinking they should have not went D1. UNA must realize that they must go up in salary pay to be competitive at D1, specifically the ASUN. If they don't, then shame on them and get ready for years of mediocreness.

I think they could get a young guy. Baseball coaches are very underpaid, (the 4th coach is volunteer), and there are only around 300 D1 jobs total. A hungry young assistant would probably grab the opportunity. Would be worth a shot in my opinion.

Unless Mars Hill has really uped their pay, I doubt it. Lauderdale County Schools pay as much or more in some cases.

Bellarmine beats UNA 18-3 in 7 innings. Just the Knight's 4th win of the year. The second game of the double-header is upcoming.

Sigh. The Lions just lost the 17-3 in the second game.
Bellarmine was 3-25 (1-8) coming into today’s doubleheader.
It’s hard to process what just happened. Wow.

Mars Hill isn’t party of the County school system, and they are by far better in just about every sport than county schools. They are private. Have you seen their facilities? Their football has a small indoor facility and Jumbotron better than Braly. Being private, they don’t have to follow same pay structure as public schools.

Okay this has got to be the last straw. I expected UNA to win this series, and possibly even sweep. Beating an SEC opponent in a mid week game can not continue to be the saving grace of this program. It’s time for changes as much as I hate being the guy that says thing like that. Keehn’s not the only one in the department either..
