A Knoxville-based group known as Muscle Shoals Holdings bought the land at auction in May for $5 million and closed on the sale last week. The group said it has no specific plans at the moment for the land despite the seven-figure investment. In fact, they're up for suggestions.
King said the investment group is maintaining an open mind about how best to use the property located in the city limits of both Muscle Shoals and Sheffield.
"To be honest, no one is excluded form that process," he said. "We go for the obvious leaders, so we've met with all four mayors of the four cities. We've met with the (University of North Alabama in Florence).

Very interesting.
I'd love to see an exact map of the property, but I can't find one online. Part of it seems to be the east side of Hatch Blvd in Sheffield, across from Chuck E. Cheese, the old Holiday Inn, etc. I could see that being an extremely attractive piece of land for someone. And like we've talked about, I could see the University being interested in it for future expansion opportunities.
