So I don't peruse other fans' boards very often, but since we've had some JSU fans on the board lately I have checked in on a couple of theirs, just to see what they think about our upcoming games. I noticed that a lot of them harbor a pretty big hatred of all things Troy. Seems as if they would like to see another football game between the two at some point, but Troy isn't interested. Not sure if they play very often in other sports.
For us, I know that traditionally we would call both of those schools our overall two biggest rivalries, at least pre-1990. But I haven't noticed a lot of chatter here or anywhere else about scheduling Troy. Obviously football probably won't happen regardless for a few years, but the other sports seem like they would be doable.
If Troy actively tries to avoid scheduling JSU, for whatever reason, what do y'all think their feelings would be on scheduling us? Is that something we want? Something the University would/should want?
Just wondering, as someone who unfortunately missed out on watching any games between us and the Trojans.

We play Troy this year in baseball I know, and I think they come to Florence. We will probably be playing them in all other sports as well if there are spots available. I don't see us not playing them. They were a big advocate and tremendous support for the move to D1 for us.
I still hate um though.

If somebody had mentioned on here about us playing them in baseball, I must have missed it. Though I don't keep up with baseball as much as other sports. I'm curious why they would necessarily support us moving up. They actually want to play us? Want to have an old familiar face on the schedule? And if that's the case, I wonder why the animosity with JSU? Of course, that could just be some JSU fans spinning the facts in their favor.

Troy helped una out a lot with the model or "blueprint" to go by during the process. I don't know if we will play them in football, I ment other sports, I think they do play JSU in all other common sports.

Former Lion defensive tackle Johnny Williams was their athletic director. He took them from D2 to FBS and assured us if a small area like Troy, Al could do it, UNA should be able to as well.
