The Times Daily came out with some "breaking news" yesterday. UNA will play Memphis in 2022!!!
Does anyone else feel like we break more news about the Lions and cover them better than the TD and especially the almost worthless roar lions. Last time I looked, they're still congratulating Dre Hall and welcoming Tony Puho. Not exactly news.

Got to admit, when I saw the Memphis item, I thought, man, that is really old news. I took some solace in the announcement I saw on Facebook saying there would be more future teams rolled out during the month of July. Just hope its not a picture of the 2018 schedule.

I'm sure they are going to announce JSU, Montana and whomever else they have for the next couple of years.
Just hope they don't act like A&M and Western Illinois is new news.

Montana would be pretty old news. Predates Memphis by months. Don't know what purpose is served as our opposition has, in many cases, announced this information publicly to generate and sustain fan interest. Could be a lesson to learn here, especially if you want to infuse fund raising with a boost from fan interest. A dollar today goes farther than a dollar tomorrow.

You are right, except that the big donors know who we are going to play as soon as its scheduled. I understand why they have not said anything, if you keep the suspense, you peak interest. Plus they don't want too much looking at next year when this year hasn't been played yet. Next years OOC schedule will be fun though. If I'm not mistaken we have Western Illinois at home, @montana, A&M home, and @jsu.

I don't know. Their secrecy seems to have made their big July 1st announcement go flat as day old beer.
I'm all for giving fans something every week at least. When you don't give them Jack for 3 or 4 weeks, most fans stop checking the outlets.

If I'm not mistaken we have Western Illinois at home, @montana, A&M home, and @jsu. Yep all of those have been named on other outlets previously. None will be new to a those who have the interest to dig a little for the information. Here is another thought, if the intent is to pretty much let the big donors remain static well then keep things close to your (not referring to you Brandon) vest. If you want to get some big unknown donor(s) interested, now...well open the vest. If you want to get more contributions from the little guy today, and not tomorrow...well open the vest. If you drag things out, get behind the curve, you lose interest because the news gets out anyway. We can take a cue from the ones who have become experts at it...you don't see Power 5 teams sitting on this stuff and you know who they will be playing OOC as much a 5 years out. I bet you find most FCS teams don't sit on this information (at least those that are serious). I've been assuming we held off because we must have had some contractual obligation to hold off. I think the powers that be are making a mistake. Like I said; could be a lesson to learn here.

The problem here is that UNA thinks most of us are waiting on them to inform us and get excited like we did in the 1900's.
I think it's lost on them that it's 2018 and we are used to getting news instantly, not months after it's already been announced/released/hinted at by others.

Yeah, they need to wake up and stop letting the opposition supply us with OUR news and us supplying them with quality seating. Both bad ideas.
