If not mistaken, July 1 is our official day one in the ASun. I know most students are off campus till fall term but, is there any celebration planned? Hanging of the ASun banner from the rafters or some such? Just seems like we could be beating the drums a little harder and louder. Keep the marketing going.

It would be nice, I'm sure it will just be a twitter and Facebook party though.

Heavy H E A V Y sigh! I know there is much work to do and many moving pieces but keeping interest high can help increase the student population. Going D1 is not just about the sports teams it's about the growth of the school. There's an old saying along the lines of roast duck don't fly into mouth.

A little off topic, but have I been the only one to notice the subtle shift to old gold on the athletics website?

I bought a purple shirt last year that had an ample amount of gold. SHARP! The way it SHOULD be.

A little off topic, but have I been the only one to notice the subtle shift to old gold on the athletics website? I look at that site just about every day. Don't know if I noticed it at first, but I have noticed it. It reminded me of a car tag for the front of my jeep I bought at the bookstore a few weeks ago. It had the UNA logo on a background of antique gold. Good looking stuff!

This reminded me that this link was posted in the “Why so little gold?” thread a few months ago: www.una.edu/brand/GraphicStandards.pdfSo now you have the athletics site matching the color scheme laid out in that document. I’m usually horrible at noticing details. I guess previously the background was that more yellow “UNA Gold”, right? UNA.edu still uses that. I’m still a little confused why we need both shades...

I much prefer the old gold. Hopefully it will become streamlined across the university in marketing, apparel, etc.

I feel a little hypocritical even complaining, given the lack of gold we have been discussing for a while. But to me this is more of a marketing issue, which gets back to the point of this thread. If you’re trying to build a brand, you don’t throw around inconsistent logos, colors, etc. You pick one shade of gold, one main logo, and you stick to it. The academic side of the University doesn’t need a different shade of gold. What is the point of that?

The old gold is kinda bland but preferable to what we've endured for the last 30 years.
