Hosting UAB and Troy. Pretty cool for a first-year program. Roar Lions!

Can anyone teach an old country boy the game and rules of soccer. Never really got into it, but I love to support as much as possible.

I've been to several games when they'd come here to Pensacola to play UWF or for tournaments. It's a lot like hockey but on grass. Lol.
Took me a while to get used to it. A lot of playing and little scoring, for the most part. So, that makes goals even more exciting.
Goooooaaaaallllllllll! lol

Will the schedule have to be redone with the addition of Liberty? They are starting the A-Sun with us the same year.

Goooooaaaaallllllllll! lol The only sport where you can't use your hands so rule number one... don't use your hands. You can use your head, however. You trot this way on a HUGE field. Then you trot the other way. You spend a LOT of time at midfield. Suddenly 4 or 5 will make a break to the goal before returning back to midfield. About 85% of the games end at nil-nil. Then they have a shoot off. It is NOTHING like the wild and exciting sport of hockey which is zooming up and down the ice at incredible speeds, rugged, tough guys bashing each other without falling like anyone else would, firing 100 mph slapshots with a puck no larger than a donut, all while skating and wrestling. Truly incredible when you think about it. I mean, anybody can do the basics of basketball, football, baseball and soccer. Heck I can't even stand up on ice skates much less enduring what they do. If they shaved about 40 yards off the field, it would be much more watchable. Because of the huge size of the field and the much smaller stature of the players (usually around 5-6) and lack of REAL speed, it really is tedious. They should follow the lead of indoor soccer. Make the field a lot smaller and suddenly you have an exciting game.

By the way, Liberty has been added to the schedule, and play in Florence this year.
