Cordaro is a helluva coach in NAIA, but can he win in the highest division in the NCAA? Also, he has a connection with Eddie McCarter. I bet McCarter was in both Cordaro and Linder's ear about this.

Have to think that we'll hear something this week. That's mostly just a guess on my part, but I would imagine now with the tournament (mostly) finished and the holiday weekend behind us, anybody else that we could potentially be targeting should have been contacted by now and an interview set up if they are interested. My hunch is that our pick is one of the four already interviewed and we are just working out contract details.
Again, no inside knowledge here. I'm just anxious to see what happens next.

And here's an update from the Hoop Dirt site, which I didn't even know existed until the last couple of weeks... "I’ve mentioned the search at North Alabama a few times (NORTH ALABAMA SEARCH UPDATE I & II). I have now heard from multiple sources that the school will not fund the third assistant position, and they are requiring that one of the current assistants be retained. This has apparently been an issue with a few of the candidates. Interesting to see how this will play out. **UPDATE: One of the candidates mentioned HERE has been told that he did not get the job…sounds like they are closer to finding their guy. More as I hear it**" hoopdirt.com/daily-dirt-4-2-18/So, if true we are planning to go one coach short... is that a good swap? Eliminate a position in order to have a higher head coach salary and (presumably) attract someone you otherwise couldn't? Not sure how to feel about that. I'm also not a big fan of forcing a new guy to keep someone from the previous staff. I get that continuity can be a positive, but... how can I put this nicely? There's not a lot from this year I am concerned about carrying over into next year. I'm assuming it has to be McCarter they want to keep. They must see him as being a mentor to one of these younger guys.
