They put out a picture in the online newsletter they send out to alumni. I saved it, but can’t find a way to post on here without having it online and linking to it. A screenshot aka a snippet should do the trick.

File size limit is one meg, so I had to lower the resolution.

Those white walls look terrible.

I don’t really like painting over the purple on the walls either. I assume it’s to help brighten things up? I don’t really feel like Flowers is all that dark. Maybe it’s to help with TV broadcasts.
I assume the concept picture would be looking out from the luxury boxes, right?
Personally I think what we can see looks really good. We can’t do anything about the size of Flowers, but small and really nice beats small and outdated every day of the week. I appreciate the University doing this now, so at least when the rest of D1 gets their first look at us we’re playing in an arena that might actually look shiny and new.

The basketball court at flowers will be finished in time for graduation season. In the summer, they will tear down all bleachers and start the reconstruction of the 2nd level where the rails are to make the arena of flowers hall look like one level. Luxury box and video boards will go in during the summer as well. UNA should get the ESPN truck by the end of summer as well

I was told by a sportsman club member, who has been there since it's conception, that there will no longer be a divide between top and bottom anymore, they will make the stands continuous and take out the rails dividing the upstairs and downstairs. He said the seating will not decrease as much as they are saying. The divide will still be there. I was in Flowers Hall yesterday and looking at the picture and I asked a staff member about it and I was told that the university wanted it to be gone, but the architect try several combinations to get the seating downstairs to fit correctly but couldn’t and be on the safe side.

Too bad. I really like the rendering of everything "blending" into a single level. I hope they can make it look as close to that as possible. I wonder if Coach Pujol can have any input (if he wants), or if it's too late in the process for that?

Maybe they need to knock down the front wall and make room for a larger lobby with more restrooms and a larger concession stand.

They need 9 more inches in order to have roll in basketball goals. I think it’s much better than having the goal suspended in the air and getting in the view of the crowd sitting behind the goals. They need to remodel the concession stand and bathrooms

I don't see the problem with the rendering.....
They are not changing anything strucutralnn just streamlining the stands, shouldn't be a problem. The only thing they are taking out is a section of the divide so you can walk from the bottom to the top.

The only thing they are taking out is a section of the divide so you can walk from the bottom to the top. That is not the case: They are not taking out the divide. You will still not be able to walk straight from the bottom to the top.

I know nothing, but looking at the rendering I don't see very much room on the baseline for the teams, scorers' table, etc. I would bet that you have to remove at least one row of seating to fit all of that in, and once that happens, it would be too steep of a climb. I'm not sure if I am explaining that very well, but y'all probably understand what I mean.

It would be TWICE as nice without all those other lines messing it up. Oh well. Maybe they should turn the Media Center into a volleyball gym since it used to be a basketball gym.
