I just had an epiphany...
How has Hawaii, in paradise, not have the most dominant sports programs in the country?
If it's everything everyone on message boards say it is, they should be...
To be honest, if I was being recruited by Hawaii when I was in High School, (yes I have been there twice) I would have went hands down, no matter what the facilities was like, or academics or cost of living...
It don't male scence to me why Hawaii is not a powerhouse in anything...
The epiphany, at least to me is there is major bias and to some extent, cheating going on in College athletics...
Tell me an 18 year old wouldn't be chomping at the big to go to Hawaii for school if given the opportunity...

I would think travel has a lot to do with it. It’s at least a 5 hour flight just to get to the California coast. That’s a lot for students and families to deal with. The locale is beautiful but too far away from all your away opponents.

unalions nailed it. Great for everything there except sports. People go there for vacation. Can anyone really afford that trip maybe twice a year, not sure about making it anymore than that….expensive.
Plus it is now illegal to laugh loudly there?
