Are the "mid level" schools in the SEC, B1G kinda screwing themselves despite the money?
Will a Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Illinois, Wisconsin and so on ever really have a chance at a national championship with the conferences being this big?
This is where I think the genius is behind the new Big 12, kinda reminds me of the UAC, no current "power programs" after Texas and Oklahoma leave (Sam Houston, JSU) but some really good programs that will likely rise to become power programs...
The Big 12 should be ultra competitive in conference.
As for the ACC, the jury is out, I can't make heads or tails of their situation.
Anyway, just some thoughts...

I think some of those schools just resign themselves to being less competitive in football because most of them compete well in other sports especially basketball or baseball. Some of those Big 10 schools also have hockey which is big up there.
