Gotcha, thanks. Obviously I didn't do my homework on that one. All good. The guy shooting in the graphic with the score is Tim Smith Jr. a transfer D2 standout from Walsh. My memory regularly enters the transfer portal, it seems.

Good to see the basketball team scoring points. I remember that last game in the CBI tournament were we scored a total of 50 points…not a half…but the whole game. So to see us scoring over 100 in a game no matter the competition is a positive.

I like JSU at home as much as the FBS games. We owe them from last year. I wanna go, just can’t stand watching us lose to JSU at anything.

Lucky 7 in both polls which makes the conference tournament. Spoke with Forrest at homecoming. He said he likes where the team is this year. Thinks we got a chance from what he has seen.

I was a little surprised to see us that low on the men's side. I think/hope based on last year we are a top 3 or 4 team in the conference this year. I know we lost Ortiz, but we have some good experience returning. Same as the last few years, the biggest need is to find someone that can consistently score outside of our top guy, who will likely be Lane this year. Even if it's different guys stepping up at different times, that's fine. But honestly I'll be a little disappointed if we finish 7th. On the ladies' side, hard to know what to expect. We really came on strong at the end of last year, but losing Skyler Gill is such a blow. Probably even more of a blow than losing Ortiz is to the men. So I feel like middle of the pack is probably a fair prediction for them.

That's a nice surprise! She had some good games towards the end of her career at Bama. She has good size, so definitely fills a need for us.
On another note, does anybody know what happened with Jaida Bond? I remember there being pictures of her posted with the team during the season last year, so the assumption was maybe she was transferring back here. But she's not listed on the roster. Strange we haven't heard anything about that situation. Was she trying to transfer back but was denied?

Seems Tiber has a roster management problem.

I suppose it's not really any of our business, but it doesn't take much effort to tweet something like, "Coach Tiber says ___ is no longer a part of the team", or "___ was denied a transfer waiver and will not be joining the team". Makes it frustrating to be a fan when you have to speculate instead of being able to trust the media to find the answer.

Anybody else read about the coming NIT changes? Reads to me like a lot more teams from power conferences will be invited (two from each of the Power 6), and then top NET ranked schools after that. No autobid for regular season champs of conferences like ours.
I’m not a big fan. Now, the ASUN will hopefully be in a position most years where our regular season champ would have a high (low?) enough NET rank to get in. But, there’s no guarantee. Most fans already don’t care about the NIT, but at least it gave small schools something to play for. Who cares about seeing a .500 Big 12 team play a .500 SEC team? Neither should be in a postseason tourney to start with.
If I were in charge, I’d give every conference regular season AND tournament champion a spot in the NCAA field. I’ve never understood why a conference tournament over 3 or 4 days determines who gets an autobid while a team that was the “best” over an entire season can get left out. It’s more “exciting” I guess. If you want to keep it that way, fine. But change the play-in games to include all regular season champs who didn’t win their tournament and didn’t get a regular at-large. At least then they get a shot at playing for something bigger.
But of course, we know money is driving all this. And the ASUN ain’t got it (comparatively speaking).
