Thanks, man! You’ve let my secret out on here! Haha.
Most of the videos are of international singers that many have likely never heard of! Lol.
Here’s one that some might enjoy.
I’ve also got some Metallica, Disturbed, Foo Fighters, and Pearl Jam. Some Queen and several of my favorites from the 80s like Prince, Whitney, MJ, Mariah, George Michael, Elton John, and others. Some classics like Elvis, Kenny Rogers, Dolly, and even jazz legend Sarah Vaughn.
I guess I feature more recognizable artists than I realized. The past three or so years have been a wild ride as a YouTuber!
I appreciate you mentioning it, Brandon.

I like trying to keep what remaining anonymity I have on the internet, haha. I'm at the office for the day but I'll have to check these out later. I enjoy stuff from basically every artist you named off.

I enjoy stuff from basically every artist you named off. Yeah, anonymity is what a lot of message board and social media folks enjoy. I've been there...until I wasn't. LOL. That sort of first happened on D2Football where I went from being a pretty out-spoken UNA supporter (and sometimes critic) to having my photo/real name on an avatar and covering the entire conference. Haha. That was very different. Then, I didn't like the idea of being on camera. While I have been a performer my entire life, I don't care for my speaking voice (but it is what it is) and it's just different when you're singing on a stage vs. talking into a camera. My best friend is to "blame" for the YouTube channel. Haha. He has a low-carb cooking channel on YT and had me on one time for a taste test episode. A few months later, I was recognized on a plane heading out of town here from one of his subscribers and that was super odd to me. He kept at me to try YouTube and I finally gave in after seeing him start to make it his regular job that actually paid the bills. Oddly, I don't personally care for "reaction videos", so....that's been a bit strange. lol To make a long story even longer, I started the channel one day late in 2019 and was monetized on YT within 11 days. That's literally unheard of and I'm still kind of in shock that it happened. The channel blew up the first few months and then we were in the pandemic. It saved my livelihood during those years of so much uncertainty. Now, things have simmered a bit and I get burnt out on it pretty easily. And, while I still have some level of anonymity here locally, it was very weird to go to a large city this past summer (Vegas) and get recognized multiple times at the convention I was attending.

Great story, and I totally get it. My comment about anonymity was a bit tongue-in-cheek of course. Hard to be truly anonymous in any facet of life these days. If I could find a way to make money on YT, I'm sure I would give it a go myself. I see some of the videos my kids watch and just shake my head. There's definitely a lot of talented people out there... but also people making what seems to be a lot of money while doing very little. I always wanted to be a "professional rich guy", and I swear some of those people have figured out how to do it. Maybe you will too! I was actually a journalism major at UNA for a hot second, so staying behind the keyboard serves me well I guess.

You don't have to have any experience as long as you can build a following talking about money. A lot of it has to do with video editing, too. A lot of those financial niche channels are so well-edited. That was part of my holdup to start. I knew very little about filming and video editing. Meanwhile, my best friend's channel looks like a TV show it is so well done. But, that's the field he worked in when he started. I literally started by filming on my phone and using free editing software to learn how to do it all. I've upgraded quite a bit but it's still very bare-bones compared to most. I was a Music Ed major at UNA but I actually worked as a Student Writer in University Relations for Bill Jarnigan when I first got to campus back in the day. RIP to him. After doing that for a couple of years, my FA changed and I had to switch to being the Asst. Editor of The Flor-Ala for a bit before landing in Financial Aid as my student job.
