With UNA potentially moving up to FBS. How long do you think it will be until they play for a national championship?

Interesting fact: TCU only has 2,200 more students than UNA at 12.2k.

Fun Fact: Kirby Smart first coaching job was at Valdosta State; Coached DB's in 2000 then promoted to DC in 2001

SDSU beat NDSU pretty bad...
I was hoping TCU would have a better showing against Georgia.

The 12-team playoff would improve our chances slightly. So... from 0.01% to 0.05%?
Most G5 teams seem happy to be FBS regardless, so maybe we will be too. I'd rather stay in a healthy FCS, but they don't seem to care what I think.

Shucks, everyone hast to start somewhere. I'm old enough to remember when Auburn had a student population of 8,829 in 1960. Reckon I would never say never. Won't be much longer and I will be looking behind me at my 7th decade. So, it's probably safe for me to say, not in my lifetime. The bigger issue, in my mind, is not whether we will ever win a natty. Right now, it is not even whether we are FCS or FBS. It is a perceived lack of leadership in planning. I think the coaching hire is a good one and kudos should be given to those who brought it about. It shows a desire to move forward with our best foot. Still, I can't help but be disappointed in the sore points that continue to go unanswered due to a lack of "perceived" leadership in planning. It goes without saying that walking into "our own" stadium may not happen in my lifetime. Heck, the decision makers on this are probably the same cast of characters lost on trying to determine what shade of gold should be in our template for use with logos and uniforms. Just saying, if you fail at Crayons, how can you hope to reach a decision on a slightly more complicated topic of a stadium. All that to say, with good planning, I think it is possible in the future. Things can be pretty frustrating but the decisions to move from FCS to FBS need to be resolved in real time (today) with the understanding that the fruits of the labor will come about as the planting of a tree.

Alabama did it and came all the way from the Big South conference. Coastal Carolina won a natty in baseball. I really don’t care what sport as long we win or compete at the level we play with consistency. Always heard never to say never….. True these last few years make it seem near impossible, but the new football staff has and is bringing in some D1 talent to mix with some of our talent and maybe next year looks a lot different. We may be the TCU of FCS?

We may be the TCU of FCS? Where are you seeing this “D1 Talent” and what is your measuring stick? There’s been plenty of players transfer in from D1 schools over the transition

Transfers from FBS schools at least practice against FBS talent. DB from Kansas, offensive lineman from Kansas State, quarterback from Florida Atlantic, linebacker from Muddle Tennessee, all FBS guys. Hopefully those guys can bring some of that caliber work ethic to our team along with the coaches that played D1 SEC and PAC 12. Exciting the possibilities for next spring. Is it full proof? Nope. Does it bring a completely different change with former NFL guys in staff? Yes.

On my PlayStation, it's in the bag - natty on a platter!
