Anyone following the story probably knew this was coming, but it still hurts. Leach was a super interesting and entertaining guy in a sport where we mostly only ever get coachspeak.
On a UNA-related note, Leach was at Valdosta State from 1992-1996 under Hal Mumme. That was obviously a great time for us, and correct me if I'm misremembering, but I think one of those years Valdosta played us closer than anyone else did. I think it was a playoff game and I THINK it went to OT? Seems this was before OT was even a thing at the FBS level and so my teenage brain was trying to comprehend how it would even work. If I had to guess I would say that was during the '95 season?
Anyway... rest easy, Pirate. Gone too soon.

Easily the best press conference in college football. He will be missed. Praying for his family, team, and coaches.
