I think it was just refreshing actually seeing that big purple logo on the field!
We have to fire this staff, they are garbage at best.

I think it was just refreshing actually seeing that big purple logo on the field! I thought the field looked good on the broadcast but also saw several reports of negative experiences at Toyota Field. The comments didn’t surprise me because I watched several UWF football games at the awesome minor league stadium here in Pensacola and it was always rough because of the site lines, obstructed view, etc.

I wonder, were baseline seats more expensive due to better sight lines? I'd be fine playing there again, especially for another big paycheck. But I understand some fans being on the fence about it. As far as logos and field paint go, this is my obligatory "the purple all looked great but it needed gold instead of white" statement.

Been on vacation this week and didn’t get to watch the game. Sounds like I made the right choice not to pull the kids away from the mouse just to watch another loss. With every loss to JSU I get more and more bitter about us allowing them (and Troy) to pass us all those years ago while we just shrugged and said, “but the championship game!” Thirty years ago all three schools were in the same position. I’ll never understand why UNA people were content to watch them achieve so much more than us. The three titles were great, but now I just wonder if they were worth it. We should’ve at least moved up in the late 90s. The one positive about this game, other than another loss hopefully bringing us closer to a housecleaning… is that MAYBE we actually are moving towards building a stadium. I know Brandon has mentioned there seems to be a plan to move forward on it. There was an article in the TimesDaily that had Looney basically saying that we can’t continue to play in a high school stadium. ADs don’t make statements like that to the media without it being a calculated move. I’m now optimistic we’ll see it in the next five years. I just hope they don’t use that as an excuse to keep Willis. In a weird way, I'm glad we didn't win that game... If we would have, that would have been fuel to keep Willis. It would be hard to get rid of him if we just beat our biggest rival. On the stadium, still haven't been told a time line... I did talk to JSUs AD at the game... He says this will not be the last time we play JSU... I asked him how would we do a home and home, he grinned and said, don't worry. I could be wrong, but with those comments from Greg Seitz has me thinking there might was Something to that meeting in Florence. Back on March 24 when representatives from the following schools met in Florence. Liberty, Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State, Jacksonville State, Sam Houston State, Eastern Kentucky, Kennesaw State, and North Alabama. We don’t know if representatives from those schools have met since then in different locations or had Zoom calls. We know that Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State has been wanting to leave the CUSA. I feel like that Liberty and Kennesaw State has been spearheading this move. We don’t know if Gumbart retirement from the ASUN is his retirement from Sports or does he have other plans or options in the sports field. Assuming they are wanting to start another Conference would they buyout the WAC option or do they have something else in mind. I feel like North Alabama budget will not be up to the FBS standards, But I believe with the right coaching staff the football team can be at the FBS standard within 4 years. Also assuming that those 8 schools that met in Florence are all on the same page for the future. I feel like they need at least two or more schools. Would they go with Louisiana Tech, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Tarleton State, Missouri State, UT-Chattanooga, or maybe pull Arkansas State from the SunBelt.

UT Chattanooga has a huge exit fee... LA TECH is in CUSA already. If anything happens, regards to that meeting, all ASUN members would go... But that's just my opinion.

I don't see why these schools wouldn't just stay in CUSA. Seems like it would be easier to force out bad management than trying to bring a new or existing conference to FBS. I think the meeting happened, I just wonder if they (CUSA) are truly interested in including us OR just viewed it as a good time and place to meet with the schools they are REALLY after (KSU, EKU, etc.). I don't know. I don't want to be overly pessimistic, but our people won't even commit to building a stadium we've all known that we need for at least 15 years now. MAYBE we are telling CUSA we'll build the stadium if they include us. There's definitely no way we'll get an invitation if we don't. The sad part about it (for me at least) is that I wanted to be excited about being FCS, and having a chance to still play for a championship. But if all these teams leave us behind we'll be left with teams we have even less interest in playing than when we were still in D2.

No problems viewing up there Honestly the view was pretty terrible from low in the JSU end zone. I didn't consider looking for any available suites, but I'll keep that in mind should we ever play there again (unlikely, but you never know). Y'all had a great crowd.

Your last point is the important one. It was done a.) for the money, of course, and b.) to bring in the Huntsville fanbase. It could've (and maybe should've) been a great atmosphere in Florence, but playing the game in Braly would not have accomplished those two things. It would be nice if Huntsville had a better FOOTBALL stadium to play games like that in, but it is what it is. If our people will get their heads out of their asses and build a stadium, the point might be made moot. I just hope we get to play y'all in said new stadium some day.

The last two UNA coaches to beat Jax State were Hudspeth in 2003 and Grubb back in the 80s.

This conference didn’t live up to the hype this year. Hope we can start getting 2 or 3 teams in the playoff here soon.

This conference didn’t live up to the hype this year. Hope we can start getting 2 or 3 teams in the playoff here soon. APSU should have made it and Jax State wasn’t eligible. EKU got in. So, that’s half the league. It will be interesting to see how the new merged league with the WAC does over the next few years.

It would have been great if we had already merged, EKU, UCA, APSU, SFA and ACU got in... The rest of the country would have came off the hinges...
