I know the city of Florence and a very prominent booster for UNA is not happy with this move... Taking the largest revenue game for the city of Florence away probably pissed off several people high up in the City of Florence politics Then they should start treating UNA like a business partner instead of an afterthought.... Tell him we are tired of the bull.

Also what a great opportunity to get in front of city of Huntsville. Huge for marketing and recruiting. Florence needed a wake up call. UNA makes Florence a great place. Florence would struggle to exist without the revenue from the University. There isn’t enough industry to provide enough jobs to fuel Florence. College kids supply the retail, restaurant/bar, and entertainment venues. Hopefully the loss of the revenue will register. Reminds me a song by the band Cinderella.

Interesting! Wonder if any folks from A&M and/or UAH were maybe upset about us playing in “their” city and complained to the right people? I’ve been curious how those groups feel about this ever since the game was announced. Toyota Field is in Madison. A&M and UAH are in Huntsville. I know, but I could see a scenario where both of those schools would think UNA is coming into their territory. I have no idea if it's true or not, I just know that people get petty over a lot of things. Them being concerned about UNA having a presence in the Huntsville metro would not surprise me.

People can get petty but, when it comes to business opportunities and marketing, Madison will put itself first. I tend to think the earlier comment made by Unaman regarding folks in Florence being upset about the loss of revenue may well be the driver. I would also add never say never, when it comes to Trash Panda land, if there is a chance to make a buck.

Are you talking about how UNA declined buying Braly until the Board of Education made sure they had land to build a new school, just to build it there and right against the stadium? Or that they gave the land next to the softball field as a gift, but gave so many stipulations on it that they can't use it anyway? Or that the City of Sheffield (the smallest and poorest city in the Shoals) was planning to give yearly to UNA for a new stadium, but somehow Florence interfered with that deal? What exactly has the City of Florence done to help UNA athletics?
