Football I will give a C. I think we were wildly consistent in a bad way. We started too slowly in almost every game. We made adjustments at the half and usually made it an exciting game or win. Minus the A&M game were it was just the opposite, we went into the half and never returned. We need linebacker play this year or it will be a long season, glad we were able to get team thru our spring practice.
Women’s basketball is a B+, almost A-. We make it to conference championship or win against FBS school last year that changes to A. Women made the division 1 transfer a lot more fun to watch.
Men’s basketball is a C. We are competitive against most teams in the conference not named Liberty or when we play on the road. We must find a way to overcome the road blues. The good news is some of players showed growth, Littles especially. James shows that same growth and we could compete for top 3 in conference next year. Blackmon can’t be so inconsistent on offense. Curious to see chemistry without saucey, may be better? Hate we are losing local talent to Lipscomb and Liberty. We got to find a way to keep local talent here and pack Flowers. I know it is though for now, but
should be much easier recruiting moving forward.
Softball is also B+. I think Cozart will make us competitive against FBS competition in the following years. She has it.
Baseball is a D. We beat Ole Miss or this is a lower grade. We struggle to score and finish the games. We must improve in both these areas greatly, or expect more of the same record.
Tennis is a C. I think the signs for improvement were showing this year.
Golf is B-. Had to some talent on men’s side really making us competitive. Women’s program is so new make take a couple more years.
Track had some good momentum too so I give it a B-, still got to win a meet. Signs were encouraging.
Volleyball is D- just because of all the newness. Struggling to get close to a win or be competitive is a problem. Really has to be the program struggling the most in the transition. Which also means the program with the greatest chance to improve.
