Anyone heading to Huntsville for the game tonight? They are 2-7 but have played a pretty tough schedule.

Another loss. Sometimes I wonder what a Champagne D1 team would have looked like and how they would be doing.

We must have left the defensive team at home? We have those long scoring droughts and then game over. Get a steal, try a fast break, it’s ok to score in a hurry. Pitiful couple of games for Blackmon. He may need to come in off the bench for a couple of games. He is not the same player at the moment. 4 points? 0-5 from deep? If Youngblood was at least average we would be ok. Hope some of those new transfers start to find a rhythm...we need some help from outside in a bad way. James is a beast.

Had a date with my wife last night (another disappointing Star Wars movie), and was hoping to see a better result when I got out of the theater to perk up my already sour mood.
Obviously Coach Pujol is still learning on the job, just as the players are all mostly still pretty young. We are really struggling to get over the road game hump, which is certainly something a lot of teams have trouble with. We had a stretch in the second half of more than seven minutes without a field goal. That will usually get you beat. What’s the answer to that? A better inside game perhaps, since it should theoretically be easier to score underneath the basket. Manny Littles played well, but he can’t do it all. Unfortunately that’s one of the hardest needs to meet in the lower tier of D1. Most decent big men will find their way to the power conference teams.
Assuming a loss at FSU next Saturday, we will enter conference play at 5-8. Going into this year I was hopeful to finish above .500 (or at least thought that would be a reasonable goal). We will need to go 10-6 in conference play to achieve that. That would be a good improvement from last year’s 7-9. I think it’s doable, but is it likely? Not sure.
