Looking back at past seasons, 850 is a slight improvement. The only time we've cracked 1K in recent years is for UAH (over 2K). They need to connect with the Shoals area. Not just the business owners, the regular people like us. Make them feel like this is also theirs and to be proud we have it. I've said for the past 15 years and here we are. You wouldn't believe how many letters I've written with ideas. Everything from a Lion Cub program for newborn babies in the Shoals to a mobile app to lure in the screen lovers with digital interaction like contests, trivia, etc. I've just about exhausted my ideas and have started pointing fingers. Something needs to change and I'm not so sure it's the fans.

Especially since basketball has more potential to be the "money sport" for the University. Making the Big Dance = getting a big, fat paycheck. Not to mention a ton of national exposure.

Eagles fans are angry online. I'll bet this coach gets fired at the end of the season.

Making the NIT ain't nothin ro sneeze at... All the more reason for basketball to not take a back seat to football. Unfortunately a lot of folks in Alabama care very little about anything not happening on a 120-yard field. Other than the Elite Eight run in the late 2000s, which was no doubt a lot of fun, our basketball program has been mired in mediocrity for the last several decades. That's probably had something to do with driving fans away. Flowers could have also used a facelift a LONG time ago. I'm glad that was done and a coaching change was made, but how many people stopped caring about Lion basketball while the folks in charge were just sitting on their hands?

Team took a major step to getting more people there. Winning will keep the crowd that watched you win and hopefully get the interest of others. We need to keep finding ways to win at home...dunks,blocked shots, treys from downtown, etc. All those things will help with building crowds. This game should have been on Saturday so I could have made it:-(, but at least I was able to watch on the big screen!

Fortunately, we have a front runner (so far) in the conference at home Saturday. I'm looking forward to this game, especially after a win.
