So far this year, the ASun is terrible. Not what I was expecting coming into the season. The conference has regressed instead of progressing in basketball.

May allow us to get some DI wins this year. Good for us maybe, but we ain't beating anyone either. The bad is, just judging by how close it was last year for the conference to possibly get 2 in the NCAA and then bring in Liberty, a very good MBB team, I thought this could be the year for 2, and build on that. Remember, the more that get in, the more money the conference makes, in turn the more UNA will get year to year. But the potential is still there, just probably not this year.

I’m not really sure I see the top few teams as “terrible”. Liberty has one loss, to Vandy. They beat Kent State from the MAC, and yesterday Georgia State who has looked pretty good up to this point (GSU blew out Georgia). Lipscomb won at TCU, plus they’ve beaten Morehead State and Middle Tennessee. NJIT is 7-2 I think, but they’ve played a pretty weak schedule. They did beat Drexel.
FGCU has played the toughest schedule, with losses to teams like Michigan State, Toledo, Colorado State, etc. Hard to say just how good they are.
Who knows how we compare. I agree that the ASUN is not full of great teams. If we can scrape together enough to keep from finishing in the cellar, I’ll be pleased. It would just be nice to pick up a D1 win at this point. I really thought we had a chance yesterday.

Glad we made it a game by the end.

Lipscomb about to take on Louisville. It's on TV here in the panhandle on Fox Sports FL.
