It's over 1k... Most of the crowd is behind the cameras. Posted attendance - 844 So, I've done some thinking, and studying. I asked some older fans about why we didnt pack out Flowers for our biggest rival, the answers I got was A-it's an early, non conference game. Its par for any program not playing top 25 programs. B- bad Saturday to have a basketball game in the South. C-(related to A) JSU is not a conference game, and in our position (transition) it dont have the highest importance to either program. They all said that there was more fans there than they expected for the circumstance. So, there is that.

But I think a lot of it just comes down to the fact that the casual fan sees our record and just assumes it’s the same mediocre UNA basketball we’ve seen for the past 8+ years. We here on this board know things are different, that there’s reason for optimism. Not so for Joe Q. Public that doesn’t know much more than what he reads in the TimesDaily. Not sure how to change that aside from actually winning a few games. Still, I’d rather be playing and losing to decent teams than padding our schedule with a bunch of bottom-feeders to make our record look a little better.

Winning changes everything. If the men had followed the women against JSU, might have had a bigger crowd? Once we learn how to win on the men’s side....lookout!
