Just a reminder, the season will be tipping off this Tuesday night at 6:30 (7:30 for those of us in the awful Eastern time zone). The game will be carried on ESPN+ according to Samford’s site.
Win or lose, I’m really interested to see how a Coach Pujol team looks.

New team, new coach, new staff, new era.

New team, new coach, new staff, new era. Agree. It may be challenging to not get discouraged this year (as in us, the fans), but I do think Tony will be a winner given time. If anybody starts to get upset, in spite of the already difficult situation moving up to D1, I recommend remembering this: we have eight freshmen on this team! Along with just two seniors. I don’t know how this can’t be the youngest team in D1. I expect a lot of mistakes and, unfortunately, probably some blowouts, especially early in the season. I just hope we notice improvement by January or February. Hey, no matter what, at least we aren’t struggling to finish 6th in the Gulf South

Someone get some good shots of the new improved Flowers Hall. Maybe some panoramic shots?

Someone get some good shots of the new improved Flowers Hall. Maybe some panoramic shots? I stopped in Saturday, of course, a lot of work to be done, but it really is looking good. The biggest issue I have however, still dont appear to be addressed. They need more restrooms and food areas. I missed almost a whole half of a game just waiting to use the restroom last year.

Half a game???!! That’s unacceptable. That’s right up there with waiting half the game in the ticket line at Braly.

I know they originally said that there was a plan for restrooms upstairs (and maybe concessions?). But, I also seem to remember someone, probably on here, saying that that plan had been dropped. Does anyone know for sure? If it’s not coming this year, I hope it can be worked in sometime in the future.

Ugh, hate to be negative minutes into the game, but I’m really disappointed in our road uniforms. Not a trace of gold, but purple and BLACK?! Just ridiculous.

Final Samford 91 UNA 74. Two Returnees and eight Freshmen...given the chemistry that probably needs to develop by playing someone other than ourselves (and that will come starting with tonight) I give a grade of respectable. No W but, based on what I could hear on the internet connection they fought. Had problems with my ESPN+ this night.

Would have loved a win, but, it is what it is. Like I said, have a lot of building to do, I still think we have a great coach. He is learning as well. He is by default, a freshman himself being his first HC job.
