Really cool article from the official athletics site, regarding UNA's first African-American players... roarlions.com/news/2018/10/24/una-football-celebrates-50-years-of-integration.aspxI'll be honest, I had no idea UNA was the first Alabama team to integrate. I feel like a lot of the program's history before the 90s so rarely gets mentioned, but that could be a little bias because of my age. Either way, it's really cool to learn about this. Hopefully fans will show up a little early for the ceremony Saturday. Also, for those reading the article, there are two GREAT pictures of old uniforms. One appears to be a game at Livingston where we are wearing a white helmet with an "FSU" logo. The other is a home game with a white helmet with a single "F". I've never seen either of those before. Too bad the pics are black and white. I'd be curious to know if the lighter color, especially on the pants, is "yellow gold" or more of the metallic gold like we are now using.

Makes sense....we were the first four year university in the state, first to win back to back to back national championships in football, just another first for North Alabama. Some lead...most follow.
Roar Lions!

Saw on Twitter that we are going to be wearing a throwback helmet for the 1969 team. White with a Purple and Gold "F" (for Florence) on the side.
