I live the POD, just wish they would do little less from the press box and more with the band. The band can get the student section going with chants and music.

I think UNA needs someone to be the cheer leader. The cheerleaders do their thing and they are fine. We need a personable loud engaging and fun spirit to get the crowd swaying and with sayings while the team is playing. So close to being a poet....I have noticed several schools like NDSU have that to get their fans/student section involved. Once something catches on and it’s spreads throughout the school the student section alone would be jumping.

I think the band should be on the home side of the field. Overflow crowd, fingers crossed, could fill out the opposite side of the field, across from the band. Visitors on the opposite side on the southeast corner. Memory fades but seems it was that way in the 80s. This way the band and cheerleaders rock together.

All good thoughts. 2001, trust me, no sane person would ever criticize the band's halftime performances. In fact, the first time I took my wife to a UNA game I specifically mentioned she'd have to stay seated at halftime to watch the POD. Coming from someone with no musical ability, I respect the heck out of what the band does.
I get the band sitting on the visitor side - sure makes it easier for the home stands to hear them. But I agree that it would be easier to get the home crowd fired up if they were still on the west side. If/when a new stadium gets built, I'd like to see some endzone seats, at least on one side of the stadium, that can be maybe reserved for the band and students. That would hopefully allow for more of the crowd to both hear the band AND the students and perhaps inspire them to follow their lead on any chants/cheers. Plus it would be nice to just have an "unfriendly" endzone for other teams.

I imagine when the new stadium is built, the student section and band will be in one endzone.
But there needs to be some student/fan chants that can be employed throughout the games. And carried over to other sports as well.
