After a little time to comprehend what has happened up to this point in the season, and having to get past my personal expectations for the program, I have come to a weird conclusion.
We are ahead of the game. No, we were not supposed to lose to Campbell, but it was one of those games that even the best programs in history are bound to have, in the past 10 years, Alabama was NEVER supposed to get beat by Ole Miss or Texas A&M, but it happened. Sometimes stuff just dint go your way. We beat a team that we was not supposed to (even though I figured we would) and honestly played better than anyone thought we would against NDSU. Azusa Pacific took advantage of our secondary and we still won. Campbell just took advantage of terrible mistakes and our secondary in 1 quarter. If not for that, we would have been tied in regulation. West Florida will be a challenge, but we need to show up and support the Lions tomorrow, be loud and create a D1 atmosphere. The rest of the schedule looks good, and hopefully we get another game.

3-2 is actually what most said they would take at this point. We have a chance to finish off the year very strong. I hope that is the case.

From my own foxhole, the Lion secondary has looked suspect, and I'm seeing issues with discipline.

UNA is 3-3. A couple of plays go the other way from being 0-6. So 3-3 looks pretty good. Losses to NDSU (5-0), Campbell (5-1), west florida (5-1) so combined record 15-2. Things arent as bad as it seems.

The losses are discipline, mistakes, which is also coaching. Our staff better find a way to reduce penalties, can't win games giving every team the advantage. We are getting the worst kind of penalties, the 15 yard drive killing on offense and drive enabling when we are on defense. I bet the ref's are arms and hamstrings are sore after a North Alabama game. I would like to see Cox get 20 carries in one game...that happens we win. Kid is averaging 6 yards per carry, so try to pass and can't block a 3 man front. We should never ever play the 3 man front on defense, we get gashed for huge runs when we try it. We should bounce back next week, I predict the under on penalty yardage for the Lions to be 80 yards. I think the over is set at 90.....

We just moved to the #3 toughest schedule in all of FCS football What source are you using? I was thinking the same thing. Sagarin ratings. 255 Division 1 teams #30 NDSU # 180 Southern Utah # 197 Campbell # 232 alabama a&m # 240 jackson state D2 teams bring the SOS down.

I'm guessing that ranking simply looks at wins and losses, and doesn't take into account whether a team is FCS or D2. Which I'd say is probably a fair measure for us right now. Obviously we still have a lot of D2-level talent on the field. West Florida is a Top-10 D2 team, for comparison sake.
