Where did the team go that I saw in the first couple of games? I think we left something in North Dakota. Gonna be a long rest of the season playing like this. Willis is gonna have to figure something out, and I'm not on the Aplin train.

Well, looks like the Lions are in for a few long seasons.

Obvious holding on the RG for Camels that was a no call on the big 3rd down conversion. UNA coaches were screaming as it happened

Played 2nd and 3rd quarters even with them I think the story of this game will be that dang plane ride this morning. It just seems like bad scheduling, to me. Maybe it’s no different than riding a bus. Maybe I’m just grasping at straws. I don’t know. But maybe it explains the awful first quarter.

Why on earth would you toss the ball to the running back a half yard from the goal line!? Run a dang QB sneak. I understand Aplin is creative with the reverses and hurry up, but please just get back to basics around the goal line.

This will be a very long transitional period if this is the way UNA plays and plans travel arrangements. If Willis can’t recruit well and win in conference games in the next 2 years, I don’t see him making it to 2022. He was a cheap and easy hire. The way he handles the interviews is embarrassing, and he has lost the team in my opinion. UNA needs to get a Div 1aa caliber coach not a Div 2 defensive coordinator.

It can't get any worse than last year...

I think Aplin is probably like some of the coaches he learned from - they have a tendency to overthink some situations instead of just doing something that’s proven to work. Full disclosure though, I’m an I-formation, power football kind of guy and may never fully accept the HUNH type of offense. As as for the O-line, you’re right. It’s obvious now we have a D2 offensive line. That’s one piece of the puzzle that will need at least a few years to correct, unfortunately.

I cant say who's better, but I can say that after all the injuries, i couldn't hold much against Stedman. But our O-line is bad. And i think they could be good, but they are lazy... they let go of blocks early, then they just stand around and watch. My beef with Aplin is the trick plays and predictability, after the first half of the A&M game, I could almost tell you what we would do play for play up to tonight. Willis is not off the hook either, let's take punt in the 1st and give them a short feild.

I understand Aplin is creative with the reverses and hurry up, but please just get back to basics around the goal line. We need to get back to the basics in all areas, blocking, running, catching, throwing, tackling (wrap up and drive through them, quit trying to strip the damn ball all the time) not letting the WRs get behind you. Coaches need to do more homework, you have to have the players in the right spot. Too many mental errors on both the players and coaches. It's all around an F- grade team wide. I dont mind getting beat by a superior team, I cant stand getting beat buy ourselves.

You know, we are just a handful of points from being winless this season. As someone who graduated from una, marched in the Pride of can't say Dixie, and spends numerous weekends each fall in Florence for games, I want to see more emotion from the fan base. I see it on here.. but I know too many "moral victory" fans and that drives me crazy. I know it's early, but Coach is digging himself a hole.
