Also back at practice Tuesday was Chris Weaver. The junior quarterback left the team two days before the season opener at Southern Utah to be with his wife as they awaited the birth of their second child. Weaver worked with the second-team offense during practice, although Willis said no decision has been made yet as to who the No. 2 quarterback will be Saturday. Freshman Rett Files replaced Lopez when he was injured in the second quarter last week. Senior Rico Bruton was on the sideline but unavailable due to an illness. “Weaver is back and he just has to get the rust off,” Willis said. “I haven’t met with coach (Ryan) Aplin yet, but it is one of those situations where we will watch him practice this week and decide if he will be the next guy up or No. 3. He said he felt good and I know he was ready to get back.”
Starting defensive end Jaylin Dailey, meanwhile, did not practice. Dailey also suffered a knee injury against Alabama A&M and missed most of the second half. “He has an MCL strain, but he could be able to go Saturday – it just depends on how he recovers throughout the week,” Willis said. “He could use the week off, but he wants to plays, so we’re trying to take care of him this week to give him a chance to play.”
Linebacker Christon Taylor is still dealing with an ankle injury, although he was able to practice Tuesday.
Still no word on Morris and Sturdivant.

Sounds like Lopez may be feeling better? Good news on Dailey with the strain, I know he has to be relieved. With Cox and Humphrey having such good years, Sturdivant can take time to get back to normal with his news.
