I guess I’m wrong, but I thought FCS teams were limited to 11 games, and only FBS teams had 12. Hmm.
Good to get 6 home games. It seems we always max out at 5.

Good looking home schedule, road is going to be tough. Montana, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, and Gardner-Webb all on the road...whew. Very exciting. 2020 will bring more excitement as Jacksonville State comes back to town. Kennesaw State comes to town....it's getting better and better. I am excited for the future. In 2020 we go to Utah again, this time at BYU. Exciting times to be a UNA LION.

I'm more surprised that Jackson St is a return game.

Good schedule. Like that we start it at our place against the Leathernecks.

Doing some studying of this schedule, judging by the way we played in game 1, and thinking we should get better, I'm looking at an 8 win season at worst in 2019.

I like your 2019 schedule. Your first two opponents played each other last night with WIU coming away with the win at Montana.Your fans should definitely try to make the trip up to western Montana. Great atmosphere in their 26,000 seat outdoor stadium and I like that get WIU and Charleston Southern at home. KSU and JSU should be great games and I hear that Monmouth's program is on the rise. I was trying to find an interview with your coach that I saw on Friday from the Fargodome, but to no avail. Anyway,he was talking about the changes with moving up to the FCS and how you guys were going about it. Apparently your AD and I believe the UNA's President made the trip up to Fargo as well. It sounded like they were meeting up their NDSU'S counterparts to discuss how NDSU runs the Bison program top to bottom. Pretty cool. Exchanging trade secrets. Ha! Also, your coaches got an idea on how and what type of kids we look to recruit out of high school, specifically offensive lineman. We typically go after kids that are around 6'5"-6'6" and coming out of HS weigh in at around the 240 to 250 lb range, but by the time they get in the lineup they're 300 or so lbs. Bright kids with high moral values and characteristics. Rarely are there any off the field problems. We have an excellent strength and training coach that we fans are always afraid will get pinched away to an FBS school or the NFL. Practically all of our incoming freshman are redshirted and we rarely add transfers to the roster. You'll have to continue to add transfers for the next couple of years during your transition, but that will trend downward once the HS recruits know that the Lions will be eligible for the playoffs. That's my .02 cents mixed in with what your coach had to say. Just thought that y'all might find this information interesting. ROAR LIONS!!!

You’re right, our president was at the game (I saw him tweet a pic inside the Fargodome). I think it’s a great idea to exchange ideas, because there are some similarities in our programs. I think NDSU has resources we likely never will, such as a majority of the state supporting you. But you have proven that a D2 power can excel in FCS as well, and there’s no reason we can’t do that also. As I’ve said, teams with winning traditions usually have a knack for continuing it, even if there are some ups and downs. One thing I can appreciate about your fan base is you guys being so knowledgeable of what’s happening in the rest of FCS. I think a lot of our fans unfortunately spend too much time concerned with SEC teams to learn what’s happening outside of the UNA bubble. I have hope that will change eventually. So far I’ve really enjoyed getting to “know” the FCS, researching other schools and keeping up with game results. Our schedule next year is pretty darn attractive. I’ve always wanted to get out to Montana. I may have to see if I can make that trip work.

Our main problem will continue to be the Sabanization of the state. Even a big school like Auburn is struggling with it and now that Saban has discovered it's not a bad thing to have a great QB, it's gonna get even worse. I know of Auburn and Tennessee fans who've flipped because they want to win for a change. Bama sucks up 75% of the state's attention, talent and other football and financial resources. Auburn gets about 23% and the other 8 D1 schools fight over the other 2%. I Get angry and frustrated but it is what it is. Every little tip or bit of info we get from you will be very helpful in our swim against the tide.

Yeah...as for recruiting, you have a much tougher hill to climb with all of the FBS and many more FCS schools in your region. NDSU and UND are the only programs in the state and the Bison get all of the best instate talent. We get kids that FBS schools won't even look at because they played 9-man fb and NDSU transforms them into studs. Besides ND, most of our players come from MN,WISC,ILL, Iowa and Florida. A handful from Missouri, Nebraska, and SD, etc. They do a great job of finding the gems that the FBS schools overlook. They come to NDSU and play with a bit of a chip on their shoulder. Many walk-ons have ended up getting scholarships. We've beat the Gophers twice, Iowa, Iowa State and Kansas State just to name a few. And remember that we beat them in their house which makes it all the sweeter. Games like those are huge when it comes to recruitment. Plus, we've been fortunate to have ESPN Game Day come to Fargo a couple of times. Lastly, when kids see a guy like Carson Wentz go 2nd overall in the NFL draft it shows them that you can attend a smaller school and still excell. Seeing this "Culture" grow into what it has become has been a fun ride for us that live up here in the great white North!! "0h youbetcha!" as we say around here. You're probably already familiar with this FCS site called AGS (AnyGivenSaturday), but just in case you're not check it out. It's everything FCS. And the NDSU site is Bisonville.com. On AGS you'll get a feel for how much some of our knucklehead fans are disliked by other fan bases. I never post, only lurk, but pick up tons of information. Roll Herd!!

That is just flat out wrong of your locals/alumni!! That's a major negative right there. That kinda attitude behavior wouldn't fly up here. The least they could do is support UNA first and then Bama as their pet team or whatever. Coming up to NDSU with your AD and President was one of the very first steps in getting butts back in the seats. Get the team in order and the second that season comes around that you're eligible for the playoffs, kick some ass, get in and make a run.People will take notice.ñ Everyone thought that we wouldn't be a threat and look how that's ended up!We said "Oh yah, you'll see". We blew right by them and haven't looked back. JMU is getting there. The Bison have forced their fellow conference teams to get better or get left behind forever. SDSU has stepped up their game big time. The MVFC is a total meat grinder and NDSU has a target on their back every bloody year. Everyone wants to beat us like no other. It's frickin tough to be at the top. Very tough. You guys are headed in the right direction and be fully confident that you'll get there as well. There's nothing like a being a giant killer. One of the more popular signs our fans make to take to the past Championship games in Frisco is "Bring on Bama!" Lol. Hell, why not? It be interesting to see how the Bison stacked up.
