Apparently there was an issue with the seating company on the delay on installing the new seats in Flowers Hall.
They are now in the process of removing the current seating.
They are hoping to have the new seating install by the end of October.
I asked about downstairs for volleyball in 4 weeks. For the first few games the seating will not be in place. It is my understanding that the walk and place for the seats will be in place, but they will probably put out folding chairs where the seats will be.
They should be sending out in mail this week information on basketball for the season ticket holders. There will be a diagram of the new seating in that information.

Has the VIP area been finished? Are we allowed to come in and see the progress?

Has the VIP area been finished? Are we allowed to come in and see the progress? They just started on removing the current seating this week and they don’t even have any sections removed yet. I’m thinking it might be sometime in October on the VIP section.

I hope everything goes smoothly from here on. It’s definitely a little too close for comfort on time. I’m really excited to see all the changes once they’re finished. As much as I love football, I’m VERY excited about this coming basketball season, for both the men and the women.

I was in there yesterday and today and at the rate they were going it will take two or more weeks in removing the current seating. I only saw two or three working. Hope everything is in place before the first basketball game and the downstairs is complete before the volleyball season ends.

I'm disappointed to hear that. Sounds Harry High Schoolish stuff. I take that back. Most high schools would be quicker than this.

You would think that, but anytime something is done that cost more than a set amount of money, set by the State, you have to have it bid out and go with the lowest bidder.

Has anyone been able to peak inside Flowers lately? I'm really curious to see how the new seating looks.
I'm excited, because we sat in the upper section last year and honestly had to stay on the bottom row due to me fearing for my 2 year old's safety. Those old bleachers needed to be replaced 20+ years ago. So glad that is being done.

I went by this morning (September 21st). It will be lucky if they have it completed by Thanksgiving.
They have not started any installing of the new seats.
They still have the seats upstairs that were the chair back.
I’m thinking that for volleyball people will have to go upstairs and use those seats until they install the seats downstairs.

Thanks spectator. It's a tight timeline for sure. The first home game is November 10th. Purely hypothetical for a moment - let's say something happens and they don't finish before Thanksgiving. I wonder what the backup plan would be? How big is the gym on the Florence Middle School campus? I know it's relatively new, but I've never been there. FWIW, the home game against Jacksonville State is December 1st. They absolutely have to have it finished by then. Squandering the chance to play the chickens at Flowers would be horrible.

It has decent capacity but not nearly enough for the potential crowd UNA-JSU could produce. The coliseum holds more. Boy would THAT bring back a lot of memories for a lot of people on both sides!

Pujol was definitely the guy for the job. Really impressed with everything he has delivered to this point. If he coaches as well as he has executed everything else, we are in for a great run. I hope he is excited about having the opportunity to be the first coach that could win the conference, take a North Alabama team to the dance. If that happens one day, I will be there.
