Can't wait.... Time to start showing up Lion fans....... I'm pumped. That's even on a Saturday. Hopefully we'll see the largest crowd there in quite some time. They need to hype the heck out of this game around town.

We can thank the tornado for that one. They are still scrambling for places to play their home games. It would be great if we can get to the point where we are dominant enough at home to publicly declare The SHOW OF THE SHOALS RETURNS!
Taking charge of your homecourt leads to better things across the board. I think the excitement generated by the basketball program in the mid 70s spread to the football and baseball programs as well as women's basketball.

Your still thinking D2..... How about "The Show Of The South"

What if, in the same breath, sportswriters would talk about Kentucky, North Carolina and UNA in seasons to come?

When we get back to having at least 3,000 locals at our games, I'll start thinking bigger.

From Jax State.com
Ray Harper, the third-year JSU head coach has planned a 12-game home slate that includes a Nov. 28 home opener and a Dec. 18 matchup with old rival North Alabama. "I think it's a great, challenging schedule," Harper said. "We're going to be playing in two of the toughest environments in college basketball, renew an old rivalry in North Alabama.
Following the road stretch, the Gamecocks return to Pete Mathews Coliseum on Dec. 18 to take on North Alabama for the second time. It will be the first matchup between JSU and the Lions in Jacksonville since head coach Bill Jones claimed a 109-95 victory over the visitors on Feb. 15, 1993. In January the Lions knocked off the Cocks by 24, 94-70. Even though both schools had some major victories on the other school's court, as with most basketball rivalries, home court usually won out.
