A-Sun member Stetson is currently ranked 19th in D1. I have watched a few of their games this year and they are very talented. Maybe they can bring a National Championship to the A-Sun. It's not far fetched if you are one of those "Mid Majors can't win National Championships" people. Coastal Carolina did it in the Big South.
Like I said before, baseball (and softball) could be UNA's best exposure sports for a while to start with. Tons of peaple keep up with the road to Omaha.

2 top 30 teams in the A-Sun, baseball is getting better and better in the A-Sun.
KSU has done well in the past as well.
Just thought you may be interested. Would be nice to see an A-Sun team in Omaha.

For all interested, Stetson won both the A-Sun regular season and tournament. They have a projected RPI of 4 and is likely to host a regional. Was also listening to a broadcast saying the A-Sun could have 2-3 in the NCAA tourney. I feel like it will be Stetson and Jacksonville only.

I've seen some TV commentators suggest that Stetson may not even be a national seed. This would be the ultimate of Big School bias but I reckon the ultimate has happened before. Hope that will not be the case as I understand that RPI of 4 to be well earned.
I always enjoy watching this tournament what with the regionals, super regionals, and Omaha. Usually I'm a big SEC homer but that will not be the case this year. Gonna pull for the mid-majors because, for them, it just means a whole lot more. Gonna start my ASun chant early and pull for our really soon to be conference stablemates. Gonna pull for the Hatters of Stetson and any other ASun team who might make the field. Heck, I'll be pulling for Campbell and the Big South, unless they are playing against ASun, cause, thanks to football, they are kind of like cousins. Looking forward to the day when I see a purple and gold denomination of LIONS in this tournament!

Cool! I'm gonna have to pay more attention this year. I never follow the CWS.

I understand the SEC is a tough conference in baseball, but are they 11 teams in the tournament tough? I'll be the first to say, something kinda smells in that situation. There is no way, in my opinion, more than 6 teams from any conferences should be in. I'll give you 6 may be that good, but 7-11 can't be better or as good as most of the teams that get left out.

Reminds me of how the basketball tourney works. Many a good and deserving mid major stay home to make way for the bigs. Does a lot to rake in money for major conferences and i guess the networks but does very little to grow the game and promote the overall health of the sport.

If Stetson can host a regional, think of the economic impact that UNA hosting a regional can bring to Florence. That is, if UNA Baseball can be as good as Stetson.

Trust me, I have been dreaming about UNA hosting. It will be tough to get to that level the first couple of years. The best thing that can happen, and this is for all sports, is the fans show up and be supportive. That will help with recruiting, especially when recruits are at games and see the support, the will think, man, even though they are struggling, the fans love them. I want to go there.
