Year after next, 2019. I'm pretty sure UNA will play a full Big South schedule starting in 2019. Won't be eligible for conference title or playoffs until 2022. With the shaky ground the Big South is standing on, we should let it be known we would be a lot more likely to stay for an extended period if we could become eligible to compete for the conference championship in 2020. They might go for that because after two years I expect the OVC to come a callin' after we've proved our viability. The Big South would want to avoid that. I would rather stay in the A-Sun and move towards football in the A-Sun. I just believe as a whole, we fit with the A-Sun schools more than the OVC.

I'll be 63. I may not even know what football is by then. It's been very frustrating for people my age to watch us keep putting off moving up and now that we have, we still have to wait four more years.

You gotta lot of time in you Perk, maybe the Big South can do something. I think, the only reason, in my opinion, that they don't, is because traditionally, the Big South only puts 1or2 in the playoffs, if we was to be eligible for the conference championship, we still can't go to the playoffs, and the number 2 or 3 teams may not have a good enough resume to make it if they don't win the Championship. That being said, what if we go undefeated in conference play, we will know and the recruits will know who the best is.

Southern Utah wrapped up their season last night in the FCS playoffs.
UNA will play them in Cedar City, Utah in 9 months.
ROAR LIONS!

Any idea when the 2018 schedule will be released?
They said by the end of the month, last month. I just can't stand suspense.

Maybe I've forgotten already, but we haven't announced a future game with Jacksonville State, have we?
I just saw the @unaathletics account tweet about how today is the 1-year anniversary of the announcement we were moving up. And on a graphic they linked that showed all the "accomplishments" over the past year, it shows a few logos of teams we've scheduled: Alabama A&M, NDSU, and JSU.
Observe:
I suppose it could be a mistake and they intended to put the logo of Western Illinois, Southern Utah, or someone else, but I doubt it. We obviously want this game. I wonder why no official announcement has been made?

Probably both schools are talking, but no dates confirmed yet. Could be after the transition is complete. Since we are not in the same conference.

I imagine it's a time and logistics deal. If I and making the deal, I say play the first game in Florence. How many times have we had to go to Jacksonville?
Wish they would have mentioned Montana. That's a big deal to me for some reason.
And have heard that baseball already have a few SEC schools scheduled.

Having Jacksonville State come to Braly will be huge. Could be sellout with standing room only. Alabama A&M will be same way.

Good for them. Could have easily been us if injuries wasn't there.
