Should UNA look to the high schools ranks and try to find a coach like the one that has Samford riding high in just two short years? One coach in state that is familiar with North Alabama is Barry Sanderson, Wimps son. Maybe his name would help get some recruits here? Thoughts?

Not more than two more seasons. Willis was let go because he wouldn't fire Stedman. Pujol needs to find someone to teach how to shoot. I'm bias in wanting him to succeed though...

I like Tony the person, from what I've seen and read (I've never met him). But at this point I think our ceiling is "mediocre". We had the one run to the conference championship game, but otherwise I think our teams have mostly underachieved. The implosion at the end of last year still makes me sick.
Bucky won 20 games in his second year at Samford. It shouldn't take multiple years to build a team that can compete for championships. I don't want to be one of those impatient fans that expects immediate championships, but I think the fact is, most coaches who are successful win QUICKLY.
I don't think we'll fire Pujol, unless we do something crazy like lose out. But if THIS season doesn't get turned around in a hurry, I think there needs to be some significant changes and maybe a line drawn of expecting some success next year or else.

I think he has had time to implement his style for the program and recruit the players for it. That said, I stand by what I have said earlier this season in this seems like the most talented team we have had in D1. But they can't shoot to save their lives lately. I know defense is important in the college game, but at some point you have to also outscore your opponent.

Watching that game last night and the first three home games definitely have me thinking we need a change. We have effort guys that play hard. They are playing guys that are slightly more talented and that talent is winning out over our effort. Last night we had all those open looks from deep and I mean they didn’t even guard our perimeter shots. We clanked them off the goal over and over. D1 teams should at least have 2 players capable of making wide open shots occasionally?

I hope the coaches we hire are younger with energy for recruiting and development. We need both of those things to compete in this basketball first conference. Lipscomb’s big sport is basketball. Queens, and some others. We can get there, we just have not done well on bringing in talent for this level or any major development in that talent we do get.

Bob Huggins. Please and Thanks If he can lay off the booze. When we fired Champange, i initially wanted Tubby Smith, because he had just been let go from Memphis, but he spurned us for High Point.
