Was told that the possible of FCS to FBS transitions may be coming to a rest for a while.
Rumors going around with some of our officials are saying the NCAA will possibly be halting transitions in D1 for the foreseeable future. They did say there would be a window for D2 schools to move to D1 be it non football or FCS, but that will eventually be stopped as well.
They seem to think the reason is because of a potential restructuring of FBS/FCS football. Particularly evening out the disparity in the Subdivisions.
FBS will likely only be the "P5" or what not..
G5 will have their own name and championship
And the FCS will do similar with the conferences that have the full allotment of scholarships only being eligible for the playoffs. While the Pioneer and Ivy could play each other in a "Bowl Game" type deal.
Don't know how much or if any of this will take place, but apparently it's being seriously looked at.
