Yeah I talked to him a couple weeks ago about it. I think it’s a smart decision. Masters degree plus another year of film for a shot at the pros. Praying his body holds up

Less than a week away…..who do we close with for recruiting? Any surprises that none of us could see coming? Excited for this group, could be what pushes us to contend for conference?

Jake McDonald from Athens committed. He is not afraid to hit, like the way he tackles.

Looks like December was our signing day... I really do not like having 2 signing days. Just have 1!

One of our signees today is Travelle Anderson, a transfer running back from Central Arkansas. I guess that's our compensation for losing Shunderrick Powell to the Bears last year.

Didn’t see Bauer the big oline commit in today’s class? Wonder if that fell through or he just hasn’t signed and is waiting for DeBoer to offer with all the transfers?
Other than that we got some very talented pieces to add to the team. Excited now for spring….have no clue when spring practice starts?

I wish there was some way to get an idea how "good" this class is, relative to our competition. I know there are some sites that usually do recruiting rankings for FCS, but it seems with the portal and all that would be more difficult than ever to truly gauge. Ultimately it doesn't matter, obviously. The results will be on the field. I'm just impatient for those results, ha.
It FEELS like we should have some talent to work with on defense next year. I think it will come down to just how good the offense can be. Can Jalyn Daniels come back and be productive? Will we have someone else that can give us quality carries, even if Daniels is at full strength? Can Walters be more consistent throwing the ball?
Also, keep in mind there is a spring transfer portal. Perhaps we'll have a chance to add another couple of pieces.

I thought the same thing, but we only show 2 recruits on the 24/7 page. I've been hoping since December someone on the athletic staff would get that info to 247 sports. That said I'm really excited about our recruiting class, the spring game on March 21st and week zero vs SEMO either in Montgomery or Huntsville!! Yikes. West Georgia signing that kind of class scares me. I want a rivalry with them again, but certainly don’t want to see them pass us the minute they enter the conference.
Rabunlion - is there a reason the SEMO game would move to a neutral site? I’ve seen that game being in Cape Girardeau, but obviously things can always change.

Have heard it will become the FCS "kickoff" game for 2024 - like Mercer/UNA last year (week Zero). Two potential sites are Cramton Bowl in Montgomery or refurbished Joe Davis in HSV...Brandon you are the most connected?

If you look at their signing class that is posted it will not scare you. The number signed is 15 on their website. I guess we nor many other FCS teams send in information on our class? I feel good about class. Really think in 2-7 years when we have a new stadium the recruits will be impressed by it on their visits.
